Just like Hoskins. Came out of nowhere red hot then had a meh second year. The hobby moved onto other new shiny things.

I'm fine with him not being hobby good at the moment, still some time to grab some nice cards at decent prices. Some recent pick ups...

There are actually four different types: Rainbow, Magma, Orbit, and Galactic... if you took a picture of the back of your card in light to make it shimmer, I could confirm, but best guess is you have rainbow type here.

So I think yours is accurately described “Black Rainbow Foil” (I shouldn’t have said “diffractor” for it, as that is what they replace “foil” with for the magma, orbit, and galactic varieties)

If interested: the rainbow, magma, and orbit types have a black versions #/50 (so ironically there are actually 150 black cards!)... the galactic only has orange, red, and gold color parallel (no black, green, or blue)

Buying and selling baseball cards is just plain fun just like fantasy baseball- especially when you do it with integrity and meet new friends along the way.

My sentiments exactly. I'm just hoping someday, I can have enough money from my card sales to buy a nice little used convertible in retirement. I don't treat this in any way as my retirement plan.

The fun of it all is collecting a player you like, hopefully seeing them do well, and enjoying their career. If you can make a little money on the journey, it's a nice bonus.

Picked up an unused redemption as part of a trade before the season started. Redeemed, received, submitted to PSA, and now have this.

My only Devers auto but like others I'm considering picking up a couple more.

Haha! Although the sad thing is I think there are like 5 of us collecting him... we all hang out and tell each other how much we like him. And everyone else says "he's 22?!? over the hill... give me Acuna and Soto"

I prefer having him a cost effective PC target

I have quite a few Devers cards but I need to go back and look thru all my stuff. From what I can remember I bought a 2018 Heritage Action PSA 10 for $25, and a Topps Chrome Sapphire and Topps Chrome Variation refractor for around $5 each. Then I have quite a few base from busting wax. One day more people will learn that a highly touted prospect can have a not so great, but decent first year, and blossom in their next full season. So much money to be made on a lot of guys like Devers.
