Thanks Adam! More than happy to support this project. It’s fun to be involved and see it evolve. Hope you get lots of support. Would be great to see Uprising be even bigger than Occupation!

That's my hope. But we shall see. I know quite a few fans and collectors have left the hobby since 2015, but I also know many backers who regretted not getting more, and many MA fans who just plain missed it.

Ultimately i'm hoping to strike a nice balance where casual fans can get the main set easily, while the real diehard fans can get the more special stuff, in smaller quantities to keep their value.

One of the things i'm most proud of is how 5 years later people are still collecting Occupation!

Occupation was a great experience and I’m glad to see that doing another Kickstarter for MA is actually happening. Most of the high level pledges made their way to eBay, which is not surprising but also disappointing that they were bought by flippers opposed to fans. Hoping lots will support and be happy picking up a base set package.

Well we didn't sell a ton of those high level pledges-- they were there if more people wanted them. Frankly, no matter how many sell this time around, there will inevitably be people who miss out, or don't have the money at the time, and will buy them from re-sellers later.

I said the same thing when people worried that a Kickstarter would kill the aftermarket!

Thanks Adam! Hope the word gets out there! And you’re right..there will always be people that miss out on it. Will Topps promote this at all on their social media sites? Even though they’re terrible at promoting non-sports stuff other than Star Wars.

They have been very supportive and offered to share on social media-- but I want to pick and choose when I lean on them for help. I will probably save their offers of support for the full campaign in February.

Sounds great. I put up. Message about the preview pack Kickstarter on the wacky packages forum. That community seems to be a good target audience. I can put the Kickstarter link up there once it’s live as well.

The sampler pack will include 4 all new story cards. Art by Ed Repka, William Skaar, and Carlos Valenzuela.

A 5th card will be one of the upcoming 'Mars Motors' chase cards by Jason Crosby.

TO BE CLEAR: ALL SAMPLE PACKS WILL INCLUDE THESE SAME 5 CARDS! But this sample pack will probably not be available on the full campaign.

This mini campaign launches Nov. 4th, and will run for 16 days ONLY.

The sample pack sounds fun! Hope you sell many. Will give people a great sneak preview of the type of set this will be and help get them off the fence in if they want to pledge the full Kickstarter!

Glad you like what you see. The irony is delicious I guess.

Wait until you see the base cards. The first three should be done by next week, a fourth shortly thereafter.

We will wait to debut them until the mini campaign, and post them in updates that are exclusive to backers!

Will the sketch cards and autograph cards in he preview pack have different backs or something to make them exclusive to that pack?

The sketch blank will be unique and definitely exclusive to this pack. The autograph, i'm not sure. It's possible we'll have some leftovers, and could throw them into high level pledges (we won't sell them though), I haven't decided. But we may just scrap the leftovers and keep it exclusive to the mini campaign.

I will definitely decide before we launch though. I've been focused on design and production and crafting the campaign, and haven't put much thought into that kind of thing just yet.

EDIT: we should have sketches returned by ship date, too. For those worried about quality, we are assigning artists just 10 cards each, and giving them 2 months to complete them, so I don't expect anyone to be rushing through them.

That’s great Adam! I’m totally in for one of the $100 packs to support the project. Happy to hear the sketch cards will be pack exclusive. Makes it a fun addition to the final set.

Sample pack mock up looks awesome. Nice throwback to the original wrapper.

Oddly enough it's only by necessity: on short notice, we had to use 4-color spot printing, so a full color graphic wasn't going to work.
