If you search for Urlacher Autograph, you get 428 auctions. That is because ebay will automatically associate listings that have auto, signed, autographed etc for you.

Once you negate the search string by taking out a field, the search filters will ONLY show you exact matching hits.

If I make the same search, and add -chicken, now I only see 117 auctions. Why? Because the only returns will be exact hits IE ONLY Urlacher Autograph, none of the associations for autograph will appear. If someone has something up, and they used signed, auto, signature etc I am blind to them once I take out a word. There cant be over 300 auctions that had the word Chicken in the title for an Urlacher auto.

In summary, since so many people do not understand this, when you start dropping words from your search field, you not only negate that word you want, but all the other words ebay would tie to your search string.

I did not know that, I miss the days of searching auto* and such.

Man I had to filter in a -break when looking at boxes on ebay, because you could get 1,000 group break listings.

Prizm is rough to search for because everybody fricken lists stuff as Prizm parallels.

Would anyone mind helping me with how many parallels it will take to complete a rainbow this year? I saw the other thread, and I'm confused on some of the different styles of boxes.

This helps for searching... Joe Blow (Auto, Autograph). You could even go... Joe Blow (Auto, Autograph, Sig, Signature) -facs -facsimile -psa10?

This particular search will include the filters in parenthesis with Joe Blow and exclude the items preceded with a dash. I need a Calvin sticker peeing on PSA10?

If Panini were smart, they would get this stuff out on the market ASAP. But they just aren't. Pushing it back makes it closer to Christmas and there will not be as much money out there to buy this at its outrageous price. Not to mention, if Covid hits back hard and they shut down Texas in a couple weeks, you won't have anything being distributed.

Haven’t you heard, there is unlimited money in the hobby right now.

Every kid wants Prizm for Christmas for his dad to rip/sell/hold/flip.

Yeah, I've heard and seen it and it won't last at this pace much longer...yes, it will still remain strong, but I don't know many 12 year old's asking their dads for $1000 boxes of Prizm for a Christmas gift. Now, it is up to the Dads if they want to buy real or fake jewelry for their wives and spend on Prizm hobby. But I guess whoever can get the retail Prizm will be the winners in all of this.

I think Panini has Rookie & Stars and Playoff coming out in November, so maybe that is why they moved it back a little bit. Let the hype really build up

Could someone please explain why this Prizm product is so appealing? I have plenty Prizm cards from several years and i know its all preference and eye of the beholder yada but i just dont get it! Someone please explain. By the way.. i maybe somewhat new here but certainly aint new to sports cards..

I think there're many different views on this. The market has decided that Prizm is the most valuable Base Rookie card and hence very succesful.

Although you could argue that Optic is actually much closer to be a Topps Chrome successor.

I personally like Select over Prizm/Optic due to eye appeal, but again the market isn't with me and investing rules over collecting.

I'm new to the hobby and have been trying to figure this out as well. My research seems to show that Contenders and Prizm are the "rookies to have" with Optic Rated Rookies being second fiddle.

Anyone think that with Mosaic getting into the football game, it may become one of the popular ones? Seems to be the case in basketball.

$1k pre-order is about 7x more than it should be. This has to stop.... I have a feeling it will be sooner than later... needless to say, I tap out on this one....
