I'm not actually gonna argue with that. I do find myself wondering about Avdija. Considering how far out in left field he has been, never participating in creating a winning team identity (shades of Lamello, Maxey, Bane), what is his particular inclusion merit? I mean, I guess Portland is one of those young teams with potential and a lot of people personally like Simons and think they could build something....

The fact JMac appears on no ones list speaks volumes about how much basketball people actually watch.

Crazy that despite the relative lack of hype, this is probably gonna be the second (at worst) class of the last 6 years.
3 franchise players, 1 more All-Star and the rest of the top 10 are above average/average starters. And there are like 10 more decent rotation players after that.

I did give MacDan a look last series. Nothing stood out really. But then Ant is the gravity, it's not like Pacers where a few players get shine. I guess whether the class turns out to be first or second rank really depends on how Wemby and Cade do. And that's a few years away from being settled. |

01) Maxey
02 Edwards 03) Avdija 04) Halliburton 05) Bane 06) Okongwu 07) Ball 08) McDaniels Sneaky good class. I remember when no one wanted this class. All the hype remained on Zion and ja through the bulk of the 2020 releases.

Maxey has been even more awesome this season but ANT is still #1 and Hali was an unfortunate injury away from upsetting OKC and winning the chip. I'd also add Payton Pritchard to the list.

The Top 6 is pretty set I think. The rest is kind of open.

Bane is a great story.
Came from a small school of like 65 total kids 9th-12th. A true Catholic School, not some factory. He avoided getting poached from large schools in Indiana and stayed loyal. Was criticized for "not playing anyone" or "he's not athletic enough" so he barely made the Indiana All-Stars as a Senior. Was SOOO close to committing to a small regional NAIA school then Dixon took a flyer on him at the last moment. Just balled at TCU and has been a true pro in the league. He's making somewhere near $36 million this year. Just really incredible. |
