Don't really blame them. Way more eyes on ebay and some people may not know about them. Doesn't matter too much - everything is pretty much already sold out.

I just feel like it's setting the market unfairly...They have access to cards that haven't even been shipped yet to customers. At least put it up for an astronomical price with the Open still going on 😂

The dream semifinal not gonna happen.

Nadal just got beat by Frances Tiafoe in 4 sets.

Is Alcaraz the betting favorite if he gets by Cilic? #1 ranking and first slam at 19 would be crazy.

I'd think so. #1 and #2 are gone.. he'd have to be a really big favorite.

but Kyrgios is through to the QF.... if Alcaraz advances and the #3 seed... wouldn't he be the betting favorite?

Off to a shaky start.

Hopefully he can shake it off and find a groove.

oh to be 19 and agile. He made some incredible shots and he gets to EVERYTHING.

Rebounded nicely after being down 0-2 to win first set 6-4

Everything went wrong for about 4-5 games in the second set. He battled back to make Cilic work a little more.

A good battle in the 3rd... Alcaraz broke Cilic to take the 3rd.

6-4, 3-6, 6-4 thru 3 sets

An amazing match...Nice adjustment to play deep off the returns. Every time Cilic made a run, he came right back. Amazing work from a young pro against a seasoned and former U.S. Open champ. He can become the youngest ever world #1 if he can take this thing down...

Would be nice but would also be kind of BS since it would only be because they're not counting Wimbledon. Don't think anyone on the planet thinks he should actually be ranked ahead of Nadal or Joker right now.

Yes, Cilic is a fun vet to watch play Alcaraz. He was doing quite a few things Alcaraz doesn't see all the time. That underhanded serve was a fun wrinkle and it didn't catch Alcaraz off guard. Cilic was hitting quite a few balls into Alcaraz body and I think it caused him to lose focus at times.

Really looking forward to his next match.

No, I'd still rank those 2 ahead of him, but it's clear... he's going to be really good. If he wins this tournament.. his confidence skyrockets.

And Kyrigos is the slight favorite.. that would make a great final.

Down to the final 6 jersey cards.

And kinda surprised the base weren't individually numbered. They only say... 1 of 2000... on the back.

I'd give his auto a solid C - no pun intended. I mean it's better than Fernandez and Tiafoe, but two steps down from Fed and Serena.

There are two reasons that the cards aren't individually numbered.

1. Cost. Stating the obvious, it costs money to serial-number cards. Of course, it would only add a dime or Teo in cost per card, so it's easily absorbed into the asking price. So NetPro was being lazy, cheap and/or greedy.

2. Transparency. Stating that something is limited to only 2000 isn't the same thing as actually being limited to 2000. My guess is that there is a minimum of a 10% overage (standard print overage), so we're probably looking at 2200 printed at a minimum. Yes, it's possible that the overage could be destroyed.

Outside of licensing, these are pennies to produce, so the cost difference in printing 2000 versus 4000 would rival filling up your car at a local gas station.

The cost of the licensing agreement with Alcarez is probably absorbed into the autograph fees, so it's negligible for these cards. The cost of the photos is minimal as well, on a per card basis.

This release was an absolute cash cow for NetPro, hats off to them for testing and pushing the market...and winning.

The problem is that NetPro should have numbered these four "base" cards, could have numbered these, and yet they chose not to.

Seems like a strange, but purposeful choice. Why?

At least they set a precedent on not numbering the base cards with their 2003 set. That Elite Edition set is just "1 out of 2000" on the back.

I think too much thought is put into this. The /500 were serially #'d like the original 2003 Netpro Glossy inserts. And the /2000 were numbered 1 of 2000 just like the 2003 Elite sets were. I think they tried to reflect what they did in 2003 to an extent.
