I watched a couple breaks of this on youtube. No sketches or autos from about 6 boxes I saw. Lots of ships, guns, d-list characters. Feels like a $60 box kind of thing. Hope anybody here ripping, gets the lottery and pulls a good auto.

I am also interested in finishing my base set if anybody opening a lot wants to trade for Refractors/Inserts etc.

I will post up my box later today. Included a /25, /50 and 2 /199. Nice looking cards but definitely a rough break without a sketch or auto.

When I posted the regular Topps Chrome Auto Checklist and tiered it out, I had a feeling. Even though that checklist wasn't accurate (the accurate one was posted later), I was just using it for illustrative purposes.

Pre-pandemic, almost every Star Wars Product was a hit-per-box - either an autograph or sketch, plus parallels. It very well could be a crap Snap Wexley auto, or a sketch that looked like a middle-school child drew it, but you'd be opening packs, knowing one of them had a hit.

Damn shame they don't do that any longer. Some products were multi-hit, with the second hit being some sort of manufactured relic, patch, or medallion, but even those sold decently at the time - even with sequel trilogy characters... that is until the Last Jedi movie came out, and everything sequel trilogy started plummeting... then the Rise of Skywalker came out, and not only shut the coffin's lid, but also dropped it in an 18-foot grave, set it on fire, and dumped dirt over top of the ashes, so badly that we haven't had a new movie in six years.... SIX YEARS!!

I totally went on an aside there, but how Kathleen Kennedy still has a job is beyond me, and how they didn't have a trilogy planned out ahead of time - at least with the major plot points of the beginning, middle, and end after spending FOUR BILLION DOLLARS is beyond me.

I can still remember that feeling of WOW, anything is possible after seeing that teaser trailer for Episode VII with the wrecked Star Destroyer on what appeared to be Tatooine, a black storm trooper removing his helmet, the Millennium Falcon flying around, a mysterious dark figure igniting an unstable red lightsaber AND RED CROSSGUARDS COMING OUT.... and Han Solo and Chewy walking onto the Falcon and Han saying, "Chewie.... we're home."

CHILLS. AND THEN YOU MESSED IT UP.... DARN YOU ALL TO HECK LUCASFILM!

yeah, the hype going into episode VII was real. what they delivered was bad, you can barely even call it a trilogy. Snoke dies like he's nothing and somehow Palpatine returned? just trash

After Episode 8, I argued on many a Star Wars board that the above was indeed the case. It was like when we were in grade school where someone would write a paragraph of a story and hand it to the next kid for a paragraph, and so on.

I was laughed at and ridiculed. "There is no way whatsoever," I was condescendingly told, "a major movie production like Star Wars would create a trilogy with no overall plan."

The arguments got quite heated. I was banned from 2 prominent Star Wars forums so I can't even go back and gloat about being right.

On an unrelated note, like others in here, I got my Hyperspace box yesterday but I don't think I am going to open it.

Agree with above, it was clear as day that Abrams and Johnson were not the same page. All the setup of characters/plots from Force Awakens was completely thrown away in Last Jedi. Rise of Skywalker you got the first 45 minutes of the movie what would have essentially been Abrams' episode 8 and than a fast paced mess for what is Rise of Skywalker is. No scene is more indicative than Luke tossing his lightsaber in Last Jedi. That was Johnson basically saying, toss away anything traditional Star Wars, I am doing what I want. Rise of Skywalker, there was a scene where Luke grabs it back and says we don't throw away things like that or something. Abrams saying Last Jedi doesn't count.

Back to this product. Feel bad for somebody paying $200 and the "hit" was a /25 gold of wampa or kashykk blaster. oof.

I would take that box in a heartbeat after opening mine lol.

A $30-40 card would have been nice to offset the price but I was mainly opening mine in hopes of getting 2/3 of the base set and I accomplished that. That’s at least half the value of the box imo.

Okay, yeah I actually just searched X (twitter) and saw some people being qualified for purchase.
No luck for me on the draw.

I also just opened my lone box from Montgomery Club pre-sale.
Probably one of the worst outcomes possible.

If it makes you feel any better, you got a far lower parallel than I did. I'm in the same boat with my MC box.

What's anyone's experience with replacing a damaged sketch? Just sent my Maldonado silver foil Hyperspace sketch back to Topps through their replacement system.
I did alright otherwise so I'm not looking for much. I also, didn't make any pleas in the notes part of their form. Just that it is obviously damaged.
Thanks,
Vinny

That's why it sucks that you're not guaranteed a hit (auto or sketch).

Back in the day, when 1 hit per box was guaranteed, it was probably going to be some lower tier signer or some crappy sketch, but you were guaranteed a hit.

When you held that box in your hand, you knew somewhere in that box was the pack that held it. It could be a Harrison Ford auto, a Carrie Fisher auto, a Mark Hamill Luke Skywalker auto!!

Or, you could hit a Kris Penix or Glebe sketch! And you know what, most of the time when people posted their hits, it was just to show them. There wasn't as much "all will be posted on eBay shortly" under the pictures.

No guaranteed hit? I don't want to live in that world. I want to go back to the good old days. Like Ed Helms' character said in the U.S. version of the Office - "I wish there was a way to know you're in the good old days, before you've actually left them."

I collect mostly baseball but got a MC box. Anything of value here also trying to figure out the sketch artist Steve and last name starts with an A.

What was the damage on the sketch? I've pulled sketches with paint all over the back but didn't send it in. Not to be a downer but I'd expect a Jar Jar binks auto in value for your trouble. I pulled a wood sketch from masterworks in white colored pencil where you could barely make out what the hell the artist was drawing.

Hey Vinny.

Care to explain a bit more about what you mean that the paper is rolled up into the name? I'm not following.

I've had sketches with some blems - I think they load the sketches up into one "feeder" and occasionally, if the artist used a tacky medium like acrylic paint, you can get a two for one and have two sketches stuck together, or a bit of color from a different sketch appear on the back of a sketch card, but I'm not familiar about what you mean by paper is rolled up into the name.

Are you saying there's a small rip in the paper stock just where one of the "Y"s in KASHYYYK is located is?

If so, I'd contact them. I'd consider your sketch a 5/10 on my own 10 point scale, I've certainly seen worse, and I've certainly seen better.

If they force you to send in the damaged sketch, its' not like you're sending in and potentially losing the work of a huge named artist, or a 8 or 9/10 sketch and possibly getting a dud back. I'd guesstimate with that sketch being a 5/10 IMO there's a 50% shot that whatever they send you as compensation would be better and a 50% shot that whatever they send you as compensation would be worse.

Not bad odds considering you also already also hit an auto of Shin Haati, which is a desirable autograph at this time. She is supposedly going to appear in Dave Filoni's movie that's to follow 2026's theatrical, "The Mandalorian and Grogu" and tie together the story lines of the Mandalorian, Ahsoka, and the Skeleton Crew, as well as Ahsoka Season Two.

(On the downlow, you may want to try and flip that auto for one of her "Debut" Autos from Star Wars Chrome if you can make out a deal with someone - her "Rookie" so to speak, as I have a feeling that although she's hot right now, she's one of those signers who is going to appear in a lot of products over the next few years, and her value is going to decline a bit as the market gets flooded.

The paper is ripped and it has rolled up blocking part of the name. I could gently roll it back and see the letters. I already sent it in for replacement.
