Does anybody think that our offense will be "figured out" by defensive coordinators this year like the read option was last year? IMO, I'd be inclined to think not. For the RO, defensive coordinators were essentially forced to adjust to it since so many teams had it in their playbooks, but not many teams utilize the RO, shotgun, and pre-snap motions like we do (in fact, I'm pretty sure from what I've seen the Eagles are the only team that does that), so hopefully they don't catch on haha. Just read somewhere that 3 of our 5 starting offensive lineman are ranked Top 5 in PFF's rankings at each position, two of those being ranked #1 (Mathis and Kelce I'd presume...I don't have a membership). That's really impressive and exciting for next year. Love having a healthy O-line back especially after how back 2012-2013 was. The only two that were not in the Top 5 for PFF were Todd Herremans (still a solid guard) and Lane Johnson, who did really well in his first year as a rookie. Looking like he will be getting to Top 10/5 soon enough. Here are the actual rankings:

Position Player Age PFF ranking
Left tackle Jason Peters 32 4th
Left guard Evan Mathis 32 1st
Center Jason Kelce 26 1st
Right guard Todd Herremans 31 26th
Right tackle Lane Johnson 23 39th

Like I said, just makes me excited to see Shady run again, Foles throw again, and now Maclin just seems like icing on the cake!

From what Chip and the players are saying, they've only scratched the surface as far as Kelly's system goes. Add in the fact that Chip is known for staying a step ahead of the pack and I think the offense is great again next year.

Couldn't be much happier with how the offseason has gone thus far. Lock in an already good offense so we can focus on defense!

Heard that we're looking at DE Michael Johnson from Cincy right now.

Also, Boykin sure isn't missing leg day this offseason:

I have bigger legs than he does and I'm 16! But still not bad.

Dang I just heard that Nick Foles ran a 5.14 40 at the combine LOL. So at least I can officially say that I'm officially faster than a top NFL QB...not necessarily a better QB, but faster

Free Agency day, boys!

Unfortunately it doesn't look like they're gonna go after Byrd.

But, they don't wanna spend big money on older free agents, and that is not something the successful teams generally do so I'm on board. Read they may sign a few safetys in FA though.

Would be nice to get a few additions in place on defense so they can actually draft the BPA.

When it all goes down, I bet they end up with a safety (I'm still thinking Byrd) and possibly Revis if he's let loose

Well I imagine Byrd and Revis aint happening because of the cost, but as unlikely as it may be I would LOVE if they snagged Revis.

At this point it's hard to even imagine what having a shutdown corner would be like.

Adam Sch. said that Revis Island could end up in Philly.

yeah they will definitely have a shot if he's released. I honestly don't know what kind of cash they would be willing to drop on him though. We'll see how it all plays out.

I love all the comparisons of Revis to Nnamdi......two totally different players yet people are saying the Eagles would be basically doing Nnamdi all over again

It will be an easy one if Snyder back the Brinks truck up to his door like he's been known to do....

yeah but Byrd just left a bad situation in Buffalo, after all that losing, why would he choose the Redskins? I mean it's definitely possible, but he would regret it eventually. You can only lose for so long

Don't get me wrong I agree, I'd rather go to a winning team if I were him.

But in the end, money talks. And if they Skins offer enough of it, I would guess he'd sign with them over us.

Hard to blame someone that is gonna have to retire in a few years for taking the money.

There is actually a report out now that the Redskins aren't gonna pursue him when FA starts lol

Guess that's why all these reports are crap until something actually happens lol

I'm just happy the NFL is back.

Soon enough it'll be time to start doing fantasy mock drafts!

I would take Revis over Byrd. We could cut Cary and grab a safety.

I think I would be the opposite, we need a safety far more than a DB right now. I think we could live with Williams and Fletcher, not ideally, but it wouldn't be as bad as if we didn't address safety

Realistically right now we have 1 good safety on this team, Earl Wolff, and he still has a lot to prove

Absolutely, but we would have the money to grab a good safety after Revis. In a division with Dez and Garcon, shutting them down is crucial. We could grab a mid-tier safety and draft a guy in round one or two to develop, our secondary becomes scary.

The nice thing is that almost anyone we get via FA will be an upgrade at Safety.

But Revis is a game changer. Teams have to gameplan around him.

Damnit Schefty now I'm getting all hype about Revis!

Really hoping we don't go for Revis. It's like Nnamdi all over again.

@AdamSchefter: Two teams to watch on CB Darrelle Revis once Tampa releases him: Philadelphia and New England (Jets fans shudder).

It's not like Nnamdi at all. Revis has ball skills that Nnamdi never did. Well that and we don't have an offensive line coach as DC. That defense was bound to fail either way. Not to mention any safety help was never there with Coleman, Allen, etc

I think Revis would work, the only part that scares me off is the constant need for more money
