History tells us, massive print runs, sticker dumps and more on the exit. Topps had no long term obligation to not nuke the market on the way out after a very, very long partnership that was pulled out from under them.

This is true. Flippers prefer turbulent markets because they think they can predict when to buy low & sell high…but there’s no way for them to predict what’s coming next now, LOL.

I honestly think lucas never understood why the star wars films were so great. He really seems to lack an ability to understand character arcs and cant let the images and score tell the story. Hes an ideas guy, and many of them are god awful which is why he worked best when there is someone else telling him no.

TV numbers. Cmon man. So do you think the best tv show is the bachelor? More people pay money to go see soccer games in a league that isn’t considered world class than nba games. The US is not the only country in the world. And what about this tv stat? Way more views for a Champions league final than the Super Bowl.

NHL is just the US number. It had 3.6 million in Canada.

Not so fast my friend....Topps has no MLBPA rights after next year. Fanatics has the rights already and can start producing sets like Panini right now if they wanted

As of now, Fanatics can't make fully licensed cards until 2026. They can do the logoless cards in mlb starting next year.

Acquiring the licenses first puts major pressure on the companies to sell their brands, all while hitting their value, also makes a lot of sense for fanatics to retain brands like Bowman, Chrome, Prizm, Contenders, National Treasures and whatever else they want.

Options drive the market. It’s in Fanatics best interest to at the very least, create the illusion of choice. Besides, the value in some of the brands is huge. Starting from scratch and with all new brands leaves you completely unable to predict the market and potential sales. I really believe that their acquisitions don’t stop at licenses.
