That's what I was thinking, but I think he is one of those guys that just looking at his career numbers doesn't really do him justice (pun maybe intended). I mean, career .254 hitter with under 2,000 hits makes that 434 HR total a little less impressive...even with great defense. Don't get me wrong...still very solid lifetime numbers.

I just think Andruw is one of those guys that will get lost to time because his career numbers don't jump off the page outside of the Top 50 All Time in HRs.

Jones was really good while he was in Atlanta...his batting average had dropped into the .220s though that last year in ATL and then the next season in LA was a complete bust (batted .158 with 3 hrs in 75 games) and he was never the same again. Jones finished his last season in ATL at age 30 with 368 hrs, 1683 hits, 1045 runs and 1117 rbis, numbers that were projecting him to HOF but then things fell apart and he retired following his age 35 season with the Yankees.
