Just got back from the game. Too bad it wasn't a W, but we had fun. Was settling into my seat just as Ohtani stepped out of the batter's box, reset, I turned to my girl and told her he was now going to hit a homerun. Sure enough seconds later he uncorked a big fly into the deepest part of the stadium admired it for a bit casually dropped the bat and rounded the bases like a G.

Will be at the game tomorrow for first pitch! Will be cheering him on, hopefully he pitches a gem

This is madness. Are we in a saturated market for young players to go bonkers over? I feel like we all sort of have this deer-in-the-headlights feeling because where do we put our money: Ohtani, Vlad, Acuna, Tatis, Soto?

Bichette always right there, ready to possibly make a move. Now Kelenic?

Seriously. How are Ohtani's and Vladdy's threads not getting 4 pages a day? It's incredible what those two are doing, what's going to happen when those other guys start doing what they're going to do?

It's like paralysis by analysis. Where do I put my money? They're all undervalued right now.

2018 Bowman Sterling Atomic Refractor Rookie /150

Love this card bc it shows him both as a pitcher AND batter. 99% of the other cards it's either or...

Dug through what kind of Ohtani cards I had posted on Imgur before (which usually is meant for posting links here).
Aside from the Finest orange auto, I still have everything, and very happy with the collection.
The 1st HR inscription Topps Now auto is now in BGS 9 / Auto 9 case.

Add in Wander, Julio Rodriguez both murdering minor league pitching...

And Devers deserves to be in that same class with those other '18-'19 rookies. He's on pace for a pretty stellar year.

Really should've kept an archive of all the "how's your Ohtani stuff doing" taunts that I would constantly get on this board for the past year and a half . Took a beating prior to last season too for hammering that he was a serious contender for MVP

I stay in my lane and stick to low end raw cards in general. But Ohtani's cards seemed to have just taken a major jump on ebay. It feels a lot like last year when Tatis cards like tripled in a week.

Seriously. And I get the feeling that a lot of the football/basketball money has gone back that way lately as those markets are on fire. It's literally impossible not to make money in this current modern baseball market.

I mean, I guess if the American League All-Star plane collided with the National League All-Star plane in mid-air then we'd be in trouble but that's about the only scenario where I can see anyone losing money. There are too many phenoms right now for them all to be overvalued.

Hell, most aren't even properly valued. Just set your shipping locations to Global and watch those Ohtani prices soar.

And in the exact way you can tell there is massive non-baseball money pouring in by the huge jump in Rookie Debuts and general lagging of non-Chrome stuff.

They sure do. The basketball/football hype-chasing money didn't really come into baseball until Tatis last year. He saw a huge surge in RD prices that no other player was seeing and the same surge was happening in stuff that baseball collectors traditionally hated(Waves, Green Refractors). If you looked at the posting history of people posting their big RD parallel and Wave buys, it almost a guarantee that they had all Basketball/Football forum posting history prior to the season.

Basketball/Football collectors don't know that RDs are traditionally hated and in their world they love Chrome and shiny rainbow colors. There's no equivalent of popular non-Chrome in the modern era in those sports.

I somehow sold a HMT32 rookie update for $45 last night on eBay. A moment later one sold for $17, but mine is paid for. Is this really what these go for? Sales seem in the 30s. For a rookie debut? Maybe it’s because he’s hitting and the other chrome update is pitching.

Yeah I was looking at TC and TCU pink PSA 10's last night, it looks like both are relatively flat going all the way back to early March. That seems insane to me.

I know he looked good in spring training, but he's performing WAY above expectations so far this year. Are people just still gun-shy because he has a rep for being injury prone? Are people waiting for the wheels to fall off on his pitching?
