I also get the "you didn't win" after I got the high bid in at the last second. So I'm kind of guessing what happened here. Probably ebay being ebay.

No Camo/Mothers day/fathers day
1 Vintage Stock (Judge)
a good bit of green/orange/red but no big names
Gold Adley, Grissom, Acuna - had 1 box with 1 gold a few with 2
Mike Schmidt auto
12 autos in the boxes so no extras, though I did hit 1 in a Silver pack
1 Heavy Lumber (McGwire)
4 Golden Mirror Variations (names left. a lot to be desired, pic below)
Also hit this out of one of the silver packs.

A Vinnie P and a Greene/Cabrera are pretty solid SP hits.

Opened my first jumbo case, is it common to not get a Gold Mirror?

That’s interesting, thanks. Hadn’t heard that, but makes sense. Surprised there hasn’t been a specific thread on it. There are no 2023 Panini Baseball products on any release schedules right now; I just looked at Blowout, Beckett, and Cardboard Connection.

Noticed a new 2022 Panini Baseball product just the other day even - “Capstone” - the perfect name for a final product?

Yeah, I see someone got 4 above (congrats!) so must be some collation issues

I have seen guys open multiple cases and not pull a Golden Mirror and I also watched a break where someone pulled 4 from a single case. There is no rhyme or reason to it which is why the Odds are odds and not gurantees.

I opened a jumbo case and didn’t get any. I’ve since bought another 2 random jumbo boxes and 2 hobby boxes and got 2 (Hunter Brown and Josh Donaldson), so go figure.

Had 1 HFA (Altuve) in the jumbo case but have yet to get an AKA or Lumber insert

Speaking of the Lumber insert for how hard they are to pull I don't understand why most are going for under $100 with select bigger names going for just over that.

Assuming you were referring to me, those four were from two cases. 2 in each. Pulled one of the heavy lumber total, and none of the nicknames or HFA.

1 per 3.5 Jumbo cases or 7.5 Hobby cases, give or take a bit. (Same with AKA)

Exactly. Odds are almost dead on 4 per 3 cases in Jumbo - so if you opened 300 cases you'd probably end up very close to 400, but if you only open 1 you could very easily end up with 0, 1, 2, 3, even 4...

Dropped by the NY flagship store w/my son and grabbed a hobby box… his once a year treat of series 1… will be interesting to see how bad it treats us this year

Definitely a more expensive route… $120 out the door is waaaay too much for this product

They’re hard to pull but not rare. They need a bigger checklist or to be much, much rarer. Same thing with the home field advantage.

Summer, 1988. The greater Milwaukee area is being ravaged by a terrible drought, and a young Blamo wanders into Gunderson's Sports Cards on 77th & Linclon Ave and buys his first pack of Topps baseball cards. Looking back, was it dangerous to be an largely unsupervised kid in West Allis, Wisconsin? Absolutely, but we didn't find out about Jeffrey Dahmer for three more years. Neither that card shop (now a parking lot), nor Dahmer (now a skeleton) are still with us, but that 88 set has always held the most nostalgia for me.

So far I got one hobby and one jumbo. Nothing real great to speak of. Tyrone Taylor auto, Riley Greene 88 jersey rookie, Pujols Vintage Stock /99 that I sold already, Eloy bat card, Goldschmidt commemorative patch, handful of other parallels.

How are the hangers hitting?

Besides no Black or Clears in retail is anything else missing?

Odds to pull colour in retail this year is significantly worse than previous years. Seems they packed most of the parallels into Jumbo boxes this year.

Ok thanks

I thought it seemed far less

I was going to totally stay away but may take a chance on some jumbo then

Correct me if I am wrong Black wasn't in jumbo in the past.

I remember Clear and Black were hobby only

Crazy to think that 1 in almost 8 hobby cases is not rare. Is there a new name for these hard to pull but not rare hits. Half pallet hit maybe?

When there are 1,000’s of each card printed, they are not rare. They’re rare to pull, but not rare to find on the secondary market.

I also am not sure I’m reading your post in the right context. Hard to tell through text sometimes.

Yes, 1,000s. Sure.

(The math, as it turns out, suggests exactly 1,000 each for AKA and 500 each for Heavy Lumber.)

I’ve got it at way more than that, but need to run the numbers again

Opened some blasters I ordered before I knew the odds. 2 out of 3 had a common gold /2023. No other color. Two blues and a chrome stars of mlb trout. Base rookies: 2 Adley, 1 each of Gunnar, Harris, Casas.
The blaster exclusive manufactured relic looks like they would make good golf ball markers.
