Got assembly checkmark yesterday but still waiting for grades to pop. Seems so slow compared to some of the other Modern Special orders.

So I sent two orders that arrived on the 25th, one with 48 cards (already popped and on its way home) and one with 33 which has been in RI since 1/30. Should I be worried about that one? Both were part of the Jan Special.

Nah. Just PSA doing PSA things. Their workflow makes no sense. I have 3 orders currently in assembly that were received 2 weeks after my other two orders that are still sitting in RI.

None of us can pinpoint their workflow. It almost feels like they put the stack of orders on a large table and they blindfold the graders to randomly grab a stack, doesn't matter if it is a new stack or not. Would assume they use this same process for Assembly too.

I have a similar thing going on. I sent a package with two orders in it (from the same set, but I broke them into two orders) and they both hit Assembly about the same time. I received one back almost two weeks ago, but the other is still in assembly.

its strange the my orders page says assembly, but when i click the order its grading phase.
so who knows either way i didnt expect this order to meet the est completion of the 14th

if they can do vintage in 65 days now i might go psa instead of sgc for the rest of what i have set aside

I think I finally have resolution on my September order. First, I want to say if you guys ever deal with Patrick in customer service at PSA, he is awesome. He has been great since I reached out to them several weeks ago. He actually called me this morning before they started their day to talk about my order. He said for whatever reason, my order had stalled out and was just sitting around. After they located the order, a week or two ago, no one had told him the order had a payment issue. He had to go figure out himself why it wasn't moving again. He said he was essentially handcuffed in the process and kept on pressing the other departments to get this order through. He told he would have an update for my by end of the day.

About 15 minutes ago my credit card alert went off with a charge from Collectors Universe. He was finally able to get accounting to update the payment method on their end and charge the card for the order. I received an email from Patrick several minutes later following up that the card had been charged, grades are now available, and the order is ready to ship.

Fantastic to hear.

I know PSA has made operational improvements but this absolutely should not happen.

Every distribution/warehouse that I've heard of has a process to flag late or "past due" orders. Sure, PSA is saying 45-55-65 days or whatever, but when some are getting turned around in 20 days, others in 60+ days, there really should be a mechanism to identify "last in queue" or "oldest outstanding." Orders really shouldn't just be stuck in limbo like this is an episode of Stranger Things.

Had a pretty big order to drop off at Tristar on Saturday that I entered on 1/31. Unfortunately when I went to print the slip on 2/1, the special was over and that level wasn't available.
Oh well. Subbed one express sub and two value modern subs. Seem to be moving along quickly. Express is in assembly after 3 days and the two value subs are in grading now.

Edit - 10 business day express order finished in 4 days. Just got the grades.
