Witt Jr has been around the MLB along time his Dad pitched bigs for years. Don't let
the mullet fool you he has the highest Baseball IQ in the league and is a true 5 tooler.
Born in Texas USA is a big plus too.

What this guy is doing at 23 is ahead of the curve. Let's be honest it's because he's a Royal gets slept on.

Even before his nuclear week. He's been doing fine minus the obp. Which will come.

He's performing like everyone wanted/expected right now but this is a silly homer take, his baseball IQ is not great

When he relies on instinct he's top tier defensively, when he has to think he has been bad...but he is still young and has likely had sub-optimal coaching at the ML level so i think he can def improve his reads/routes as time passes

If Trout can be a star w/ the Angels, Jr can be a star in KC. Not saying he's Trout, but apparently the team around them does not matter (or lack thereof)

Trout has been so good for so long. If he keeps this up I agree it doesn't matter what team he's on. But KC is about as bad as it gets as far as getting recognition. It's gonna take longer then usual.

At least Trout is in LA. Even if it's not the Dodgers. He's still gonna get that exposure.

I'm saying Volpe was annointed status before doing anything just because he played for the Yankees.

If Witt was doing this for the Yankees you wouldn't stop hearing about him.

Still looking at a player with a ~4.5% BB rate who even after this hot stretch is putting up just around league average offensive numbers.

The power+speed combo is enticing but he's got a ways to go with the plate discipline before he's anything resembling a star.

He's got to work on his plate discipline but success has a way of making you more patient at the plate. You can tell his confidence is growing and it's encouraging to see. He is the complete package physically, has the MLB pedigree and seems like a quality kid.

We should all be rooting for him.

He's tracking for a 5 WAR in his age 23 season. Seems pretty star-ish to me.

His entire OPS for June was .716.

He went nutty in July and nuclear so far in August. Last 7 games he's hitting .469/.485/.875

Which of course is nowhere sustainable.

That said, it's pretty impressive to hit like that, and especially the past month. So kudos to that.

Also, where is he in WAR? I hear people say he's 7th...he's nowhere near 7th? Not even just restricted to position players and in the AL.

I'm guessing they were looking at fWAR rather than bWAR? As of right now I'm seeing him 8th in the AL by fWAR.
