I'm bummed for Shohei - Ippei was his good friend and took advantage of his real world naivete. Sho doesn't let many people into his inner circle, and now that's going to confirmed to him and he may double down on not letting many people into his private life. Sucks man.

I think I might be the most unlucky card collector. Ohtani is my number 1 PC by far. My number 2 and 3 were Tatis and Wander. I guess the card collecting gods are unhappy with me. I really hope Ohtani is innocent and I believe he is innocent of gambling on baseball at least. If there was one thing I was banking on it was Ohtani's character and not having to worry about off the field issues.

Dude, all Shohei wants to do is play baseball. Book it right now - this news of Ippie's betrayal will have 0 impact on Shohei's standing with the league. It may affect him mentally and stupid people may sell his baseball cards, but I'll be looking to scoop him up. Shohei is the polar opposite of guys like Tatis and Wander who I never wanted to collect as they are children in men's body's always needing attention and whining like....children. lol

Trueblue, I know you are in Japan...but as someone with a lot to lose card value wise and insight into Ohtani...what is your take on this? Are you worried this will be investigated by MLB and Ohtani could be suspended? Are you worried this could be a stain on Ohtani's legacy?

Amidst all the gambling talk, went to the game last night. Game was great until the 8th inning. The game felt like a domestic ASG in that the crowd was pretty muted. I had gone to a KBO exhibition game earlier in the week (Twins v Lancers) and the small crowd was much more lively there.

Collectible wise, I kept one full ticket (they were tearing stubs at the gate) and have two more stubs which will all probably make their way to PSA.

I just watched the Sho DisneyCompany doc last night. It never dawned on me that Darvish was facing off against Ohtani last night for the first time. I was hoping to travel to the great state of Cali and watch

I'm worried zero. At worst he tried to help a friend and was naive of going about it. Nobody here cares either.

I also care about the value of my collection but my intent was/is never for resell profits. Just goes back into Sho.

Thanks for the response! Seem there are a lot of Dodger haters and conspiracy theories out there that think he should be suspended pending an investigation.
