Anyone have issues with COMC sending extremely damaged cards? I got a batch of about 50 in my last order and 6 were very damaged. I understand minor damage, but these are like PSA 5’s. I emailed and sent pictures and they said they meet their expectations of mint-near mint. Any recommendations?

Here is an example of one of them - corner is torn off and bent back

Ask to speak to their supervisor. Definitely not NM-MT.

Nah, it was 100 points for 50.

Ive had some damaged cards and they asked for pictures. They still said the cards were fine.

sir please read again. i said if no one submits cards they wouldnt be in business. Many people submit to comc and pay the fees! They have many customers, which is why I said customer service should be there focus because without customers what is there business?

Their business model used to be submissions. Now it is mainly pick and pull epack cards.

Submissions seems very profitable. How many cards can someone scan in an hour vs. hourly wages? Maybe they have trouble hiring/training people to scan, or issues involved with increasing capacity (computers and scanners, desk space, etc)

omg you are right. Even worse. 90% drop. Curious what their reasoning is for doing that?

People will still do them. Also, its probably a way to make us actually buy the points.

That's just it. The port buyers moan about proces being absurd but they want 500% profit on what they buy.

You have 1600 cards in your port sale. Most of them are not easily searchable to find comps. Oddball cards that people could make a killing on if they waited long enough, but they might also sit in whomever wants to buy your port for years until the right buyer comes along. It is difficult to get a gauge on what your port might be worth. I will throw out 10% offers all day when the seller does not have a listed price and has cards that are not moving daily on eBay. Maybe the seller just wants to get rid of it all or maybe they are just fishing to see what they can get. It isn't about getting 500% like cruiser said, but it is about being able to move most of the port pretty quickly. If your cards were selling quite often, a port sale would not be in play. Make a counter so someone know what you are looking for.

What slowdown? They apparently got bombarded with submissions when they ran the specials and from the National.

If it's the standard service they say right on the submission page that it's running 16 weeks. That would be mid-December.

They just received a select submission from me and it's due 9/6.

Well if you sent in at the "Standard" level, then sometime in December will be the due date. It is a 16-week service.

They are being bombarded with submissions - they got a ton at the National and I know many who are sending in large quantities still. No slowdown yet...

I took a look at your port out of curiosity and agree that it looks hard to comp. In addition to the points above, its a somewhat eclectic mixture of sports on non-sports. I could easily work out a reasonable approximation of a fair bid on the baseball cards in your port but would be lost on the rest.

Someone posted here a while back that they had good success selling smaller, more focused ports (e.g. all modern baseball, all Michael Jordan) and it seemed to be to be logical that it's easier to get people to pay fair market price if you narrow it down to increase the number of people that feel confident assessing the whole port.

I had some strong sales yesterday on some vintage oddball items that I listed. I don't know if they sold so fast due to rarity or if I underpriced them because I couldn't find any sold comps. Either way I am happy with the prices since I found them at a flea market for cheap.

Wow; I just sold like 9 Marvel sketch cards to a Cart buyer for $420. Your test proofs were probably priced right. I probably would not have picked them up to flip at those prices, but they have a small but dedicated market of collectors.

I'd say selling a hot dog coin for $75 is doing pretty well. Looks to all be the same buyer

I'm in okay health, 51 year old male. I've thought it's time I create a will, so I can leave my assets to my beneficiaries. One of my assets is COMC inventory. The majority of the account asset is in cards, not cash. Does COMC provide a way to list beneficiaries from within their system? Or would they defer to my will in the event of my death? I would think my beneficiary would like to keep the COMC account going and sell things over time. A death of the primary account owner doesn't force a liquidation of the COMC account does it? Curious what others have done and if it seems to be working out for them. Thanks for any advice.

I guess you should put your account and password into a sealed envelope kept with your will. I have tried to get COMC to list a beneficiary before, but to my knowledge, they have never enabled it. I don't think they're willing to concede that their account holders die. Also if you have anything in crypto, make sure to figure out how to pass it on to someone in the case of your death.

So what happens to the cards in inventory and credit if the user dies or the account is inactive for years? Does it just sit there? or does COMC take control of the assets?

As far as I know, it just sits there. I have pointed out some accounts with no cards added since like 2014 to them.

Go to their FAQ's. Click on " MyAccounts". Click on "Deceased Users
I am contacting you on behalf of a COMC user who is now deceased. What documentation is required to access their account?"

This will come up:

interesting that the top seller of the last 30 days is COMC returns for a total of $28,200. Can't think of anything that has changed recently that would cause returns to be so high? I better log all the return emails I get.

Interesting indeed.

I don't pay a ton of attention to that list. Where does COMC Returns normally rank? And is it possible that they had a backlog of returns that they processed all at once in the last month? Given that the submission processing and order handling times seem to be creeping up again, it's perhaps possible that they might have processed 3-4 months of returns back into the system at once causing numbers to spike artificially.
