Got my value plus order back today. Received at PSA on 9/1 entered on 9/6 and delievered to me on 9/27.

One of the slabs has a huge scratch on the outside of the case. Not sure how it left PSA like that after going through QA but I guess it is what it is.. anyone have this happen before?

Yes, I've had a lot of similar issues. Unfortunately, quality assurance is nonexistent these days although they claim it's done at multiple steps. You will have to enter a CRC request on the website within a few days of receiving your order and wait for them to approve to get it reslabbed. They will email you a prepaid label after it is approved and it usually takes 2-4 weeks to get it fixed.

It will take months to get them to correct and re-slab. Their re-slab service is far worse than their TAT

Unless the scratch is deep you should be able to fix it. I have some car wax polish stuff to fix scratches up slabs since so many sellers are abusive to their slabs and never protect them with sleeves. Can find some instructional videos on youtube to see what products work best.

I would try to fix the scratch yourself first before sending it back because as Jet & Rev mentioned it may take several weeks/months to get it back.

Look up "polywatch" on amazon. its used to buff scratches from acrylic watch crystals. Should work on a slab.

I’ve only had this happen on one slab I got back and while I know there are plastic buffers/scratch removers I never thought about using it for slabs

Thank you for the idea, I don’t think mine had a very deep scratch (ill have to take a look) but I’m definitely going to see if this works for mine

Received the "Thank you for your PSA order" email yesterday on a recent sub. I went to look at my orders and it was "gone" from my account.
I then noticed someone fat-fingered a date as the order now shows an arrival of April 18, 2022. The order was just further down my order list.

Guess I should call and complain about how long the order is taking...

Appreciate the tips guys. I actually have some polywatch so I’ll give it a shot.

Had my grades pop today for an Oversized order that was a recent Monthly Special. Took a bit longer than the 30 business days for that special, but I expected it. These are 1969 topps basketball rulers, which are very unique in size.

On a different note, very happy with the grades. Was expecting a bunch of 6s or lower because these things are old and it seems like the grading on these can be somewhat arbitrary. They came in packs folded, so all of them have fold lines. Got 3 9s.

So on one of my bulk orders of 20 cards (in the review order step) 5 of the cards are missing scans and 7 of them are pictured upside-down. Has anyone had that happen before? I emailed them last week and haven't heard anything back at all.

Yeah, they don't care how they are scanning the cards. Have several that are upside down in each order. Haven't had any missing cards though, that may be something you want to reach out to them on.

Just verifying, if you submit something when you are member and then it processes while your Collector Club or whatever it is called subscription expires does it still use the original costs when the order was made or do they change it? I don't really feel like renewing right now. not sure when my next submission will be.

They honor the submitted cost. My last order for the 80's special had my subscription run out when they had my cards in their possession. No issues.

They have well over 100 graders and each person has an opinion. A few years ago, you were getting the opinion from a group of 10 people. This variance is to be expected. Even a company like SGC has gotten too big for the type of consistency that was provided in the past.

AI is not there yet and may never be a consistent way to grade cards. +/- 1 grade is what I expect and 95% of the cards come back that way. I know everyone wants better, but it won't get better soon and may never will. We examine cards for a few minutes each for pre-grading and someone on the other end looks at it for 15 seconds so they can try to get on their lunch break.

I stopped listening to those who talk about consistency because as you said, in modern/ultra, 95% of cards graded are 9/10

If a card that should get a 9 gets a 10, no one complains and yells "Let's GO!!!" If a card that should get a 9 gets a 9, it is cracked for a chance to get a 10. This gem mint thing on ultra-modern is keeping PSA busy grading a bunch of absolute crap for consumers that think any grading company can accurately tell the difference between a 9/10. This type of model is sucking money out of the hobby and is not sustainable.

If I grade an 80's card that gets an 8, I break even. If it gets a 9, the value modestly rises. This is the way it should be with ultra-modern, but it is not. You get a PSA 9 and you lost money, you get a PSA 10 and insert Fire Emoji! This is the definition of buying the slab, but some people love it. It makes 0 sense to me, but if you enjoy collecting Gem Mint slabs, more power to you. I will buy those 9's for a big loss on someone else's dollar.

Indeed! I can count on both hands with fingers to spare how many times I have cracked and resent a card and that is usually from other slabs. I will not re-grade, repay for a card that got a 9. Please Submit Again is the reality. I have watched PSA reveals and the person immediately say I will crack and resend. My biggest issue is those who crack low grades and sell raw without revealing the cards got a certain grade. I have some psa 8/7/6/5 on modern that are still in the slab. I have just sent them to people randomly or given them to kids.

Went into grading today. Almost spot on again. Should be done grading in a few weeks if timelines are accurate which they seem to be.

Expecting to possibly beat the timeline given the 144 cards are very similar.

One of my First View scans has the card falling out of the Card Saver 1. Scary stuff. Generally it's a cropped photo of just the card, this one shows most of the scanner with the card shown a bit sideways in the Card Saver 1 and so much room at the bottom that it's popping out of the top. That area isn't shown though as it's a weird angle.

My latest submission also has a card shown in the cardsaver as well as multiple images upside down. Must have been someone new working.
