For $400,000, whats a better long term investment?

Would you rather have the PSA 10 NT /99- Pop of 8 so far...

Or NT Black RPA /5 BGS 9?

Both seem like holy grails of mahomes NT.

Black /5 has been 3x-4X a /99...
PSA 10 is 3x-4x a /99... so assuming both end up in the $300,000-$400,000 range.

Those "authentic" grades are so misleading to people who are unaware of what they usually signify.

Yeah, card is technically graded correctly even if PSA did authenticate patches. The PSA slab is really doing nothing in this case. Nobody was questioning the condition or authenticity of the autograph.

Basically the card can be altered or in terrible shape. However, PSA ignores patches when grading, so this card could've received a numerical grade anyway.

That’s interesting, thanks for the background.

One would think the word “authentic” signifies that PSA, to the best of their abilities, believes the card is real AND has not been altered in a way such that it can no longer be considered “authentic”. But it appears from what you provided, that’s not the case.

Once I liquidate my GME and AMC positions I’ll be sure to keep this in mind!

I almost bought it after getting my NT Black for 2k.

I thought it over, and i contacted him here on blowout to buy at full price- had sold just two hours earlier.

The biggest regret of my life, next to the NT Black 1/5 for $2,500 i also passed up/ missed out on by an hour.

All 3 of these sold the same week in 2018

This is absurd to me. Who does this stuff? Taking a patch out and replacing can’t be easy.

The type of people who would cheat to turn a $199 card (original sale) into a $465 card (original altered sale). It has since "sold" for nearly $4k and $10k.

I passed on the same card on ebay around March-April 2019 for 25K. Thought it was too high

Id take this exact card over any NT Mahomes other than the 1/1.

It was available on ebay last spring, $125k obo, if I remember right

I'm not sure if there's a statute of limitations with that auction house and it might still get paid,but for now it hasn't...
