Only have few Ohtans, base updates a Metalic I pulled and this low PSA 5 Ohtani Zoro. Pop 1 I think and it’s super clean no crease.

can’t wait to see Trout Ohtani Adell and Rendon at some point.

The Update will likely be favored over Series 2 which is a shame because Series 2 is his true flagship rookie.

I hope Update hype cools, flagship is flagship. 2019 Series 2 was firmly a stronger release than 2019 Update. Sometimes Update is the best of the 3 sometimes not.

That was my thinking, but didnt want to insult the Ohtani collectors. I personally have tons of Update Ohtani, but felt like the S2 was the primary. I do like the SP options in update though..

Over time the S2 should prevail as it is the first, but no reason not to get both!

Collect both for sure. Pricing is so inconsistent because the low # parallels don't pop up too often. Comps are kind of useless. Too many hoarders like me

Also, the S2 was in the complete set so a higher print run. But that is offset to an extent by the true RC pedigree. If it was a S2 vs Update parallel with the same color/PR, I would take S2 all day. Again, just preference.

Not sure if anyone has noticed but there is an insane price gain on HMT1 parallels past couple months. Base PSA 10 is ~120 and Ref /250 looks to be about 500+.

I threw in 100 bases to PSA in March and now I can't wait for them to come back. Seems like everyone is excited. Hopefully those control problems sort themself out in next two weeks!

Any guess what an HMT1 xfractor PSA 10 would go for? I think it is /75 ….

This is great news! Just noticed today his 2018 prices way up from earlier in the year. I was buying up his RC cards for a while but got distracted with all these recent Topps Online Exclusive Releases.

Some recent sold prices of raw on eBay:

US 1: ~$10
HMT 1: ~$20

His True RC (700) is lagging behind @~$5 but still up more than double from the beginning of the year. I would be targeting this card and it's parallels over update until people stop sleeping on it.

Either way I cannot wait for the season to start. Mondays and Saturdays are gonna be the least exciting days of the week soon if you catch my drift...

Ohtani not in the lineup. His week looks like this

Monday: OFF
Tuesday: DH
Wednesday: DH
Thursday: DH
Friday: DH
Saturday: OFF
Sunday: PITCH

Looks like Ohtani will have days off on the days before and after he pitches

probably close to 1K at this point. The ref /250 psa 10 is doing 600+ on multiple sales now.

Watching also. Didn't see anyone mention it but Ohtani pitched yesterday, control is improving.

Remembered seeing this post - you were 100% on point. Maybe people are just used to looking up the update RC...

Update has completely left Series 2 behind in price even though Series 2 is the true flagship.

To be fair, that was a great play by a gold glove 1B and gold (platinum) glove 3B, despite his throwing error earlier in the game. I think it’s pretty standard to try and advance from second to third with none out and a grounder to the right side of the diamond. I’m not saying it was necessarily the correct decision in this instance, but it’s certainly not categorically a mistake.
