Until Luka plays defense, I'll take the opposing bet. Luka can be great, but it'll be in the mold of so many offensive players exactly like him.

He won't on defense but there's a good possibility he will on offense. Because he's already done it, we know what he's capable of.

We have to give Zion a chance first. I think he will be good maybe not great on offense but strong defensively.

I will predict around 15 PPG, 8 rebounds, 5 assists. But he will be a really good defensive player also.

Zion is going to have a lot of highlights on SportsCenter. They'll be mostly thunderous dunks and blocked shots. I don't know what more you could realistically ask for his rookie year. He will not be boring though. Just gonna be hard to live up to the tremendous hype.

Zion is going to be awesome. I’m ok with that.

There was a time when Griffin outsold Curry like 10 to 1

Just have to wait to like 2024

Haha

By all star weekend's dunk contest. I sold plenty. Mind you this was back in '08. Those were stupid figures for an rpa at the time. I'm expecting the same trajectory this year.

Lob City in 2009 was a damn fun thing to watch.
Now we know you are clueless on this. You could not have sold his cards in 2008 because they did not exist. Griffin sat out his first season, which was 2009-10. The dunk contest you refer to was in early 2011. Lob City did not exist in 2009 for the same reason. Unless you sent a healthy Griffin back in time...

If you are going to try blowing smoke up our collective arses, at least get your timeline correct.

My time frame was off. Who cares. He missed his rookie year. The following year was when the prices took off from November to mid February. You still understand what I was saying if you have any common sense.

Not sure if you do though.

And prices were most definitely legit.

Thanks for the crash course on logistics though, Johnnie Cochran. Pat yourself on the back one time. Toss in a few hip thrusts if you're feeling froggy.

Paul George is the best 2-way player in NBA.

Missed your quote. Previous poster brought up PG...he's definitely right on the borderline. Took a huge step this year, but not quite in that discussion over the course of his career.

There are many players that play offense and defense well. I'm talking about the cream of the crop though. Guys that are in the top 5 league scoring and also were 1st/2nd team all defense. It's a very short list.

Again, it's quite a stretch and nobody in their right mind can expect that from Zion out the gate. I'm just saying he has the base tools that can put him in that category a few years down the road. His defense is as good as his offense, perhaps even better.

So short that a guy you named, KD, has never been on it.

But PG was 2nd in the league and scoring and 1st team all defense.

Embiid was 4th in the league in scoring and 2nd team all defense, 2 years in a row.

You are contradicting yourself with your own definition.

I didn't realize KD wasn't on it. But come on now, nobody is placing him outside of the top 5 players in the league when healthy. He stepped up his defense big time once he went to GS.

PG had a career year. But one year does not define a career. If he keeps up that kind of consistency for another 2-3 seasons, then one could make the argument.

Embiid? He's a center and misses a lot of games due to injury. Insanely talented...of course. But he's been unable to reach his true potential because of his health. And let's be honest. Money doesn't flow to centers the way it does to other positions.

The modern day hobby treasures positionless 2 way forwards the most. That's just how it is.

But here’s your quote: “Now ask yourself: how many current players in the NBA are/were true 2 way players”

Am I misunderstanding it?

Qualifiers:

1) perennial appearances on the league scoring leaders list
2) relatively healthy
3) a position the hobby actually cares about

There's that tier of guys just below. The Jimmy Butlers, PG's (who could take that next step) and Klay Thompsons of the world.

Are we talking about hobby or reality here? Or perhaps I'm misreading the title.
