The two boxes I got from my LCS were $200. Someone had already bought 7 of the 12 before I got there. I grabbed two and enjoyed opening them and did pretty well I went back the next day to grab more but they were sold out. My LCS only got 1 case of this. Normally they get a few cases of marvel stuff if they think it's going to be a big seller.

Helga Wojik just posted her cards on Instagram and, to the surprise of no one, they look amazing!

For you number crunchers, out of my 4 boxes I opened I got:
9 base
10 base
11 base
12 base, one being a tier 4

Sketch in every box.

Lets hope people aren't so sensitive that a shadow on a face causes trouble. Haha.

You have to sign up for a $40 VIP membership to watch the webinars, but David Palumbo is doing a 2 hour webinar on MM for Illuxcon Online on 10/18. That's probably the only card related thing but if you're into sci-fi/fantasy art you might find some of the other stuff worthwhile as well.

Marvel Masterpieces: David Palumbo
10/18/2020 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM EST

Summary: Join Marvel Masterpieces artist David Palumbo for a discussion focused around his amazing work in the newest Topps set. Excelsior!

I'm not 100% sure what the OP was referring to either...not 100%. But I am 99% sure he is saying that the Colossus holofoil looks like he's drawn with "black face". Again, if that's the case, hopefully people aren't so sensitive that a shadow on a face on a card in a marvel set "causes problems". Then there's the 1% chance I totally missed what he was referring to as well .

I mean it kinda looks like Colossus in Blackface. I understand the shadow, but as soon as I saw the card, I was like WTF why is Colossus in Blackface. The yellow suit doesn't help it.

I only noticed it after you mentioned the card possibly causing problems. But I do see it. Took someone pointing it out for me to see it .

What a weird time we live in where this is even brought up. Goes to show how far we've come(backwards IMO). Nutty.

Hopefully there won't be a political debate started over this and we can stay on subject(2020 MM). All threads that get political that aren't in the correct place get shut down!

Yeah what a weird time we live in when people want to make something out of nothing so they can run to their safe space.

I understand you aren't

Touchy people who see posts like this tend to go down the road that leads to shutting threads down. Happens a lot in the basketball section. That's all I'm saying .

Feels like the current market price on wax is killing interest on this set. Few of the usual places I go to read about this, including here, have slowed down quite a bit.

Price and availability are killing this set.

Nothing is killing this set at all?

Wax is sold out at upperdeckstore. Singles and sketches are selling well on eBay.

Personally, I prefer this set over last year's, however I'm getting a little bored with the same subsets. I really dig the Holofoils, but they should bring back the Power Blast cards from the '94 set or the Holoflash cards from the '95 set.

How do you guys organize the subsets, obviously the Canvas cards go first, but is it the Holofoil next and then the Battle Spectra cards? Or vice versa?

Lastly, I put all my MM cards in a 6" binder and 1) damn, it's heavy 2) I don't think the binder will hold up over time because of the weight.

For each of the new MM sets, I have it split up into 2 2” binders. In one, it’s the base set, then canvas, then holofoil, then spectra. In the other, it’s the gold sig set, then what-if set. I used to have everything in a 4 inch binder (it snugly fits), but I’ve learned I prefer the set in two smaller binders as it’s easier to flip through and view the cards, and not a heavy binder.

I’m keeping all orange, purple, and inserts /99 in 100-pt toploaders.

I keep the tier 4s in 100 pt magnetic one touches. But this brings up a problem: I’ve noticed with the tier 4s I’ve tried in this set, that I cannot fit them in 100 pt magnetics. Not because of the card thickness, but because of the actual dimensions of the card (which I thought should be 2.5”x3.5”, but apparently not, because mine seem too big for the magnetic). Is anyone else having a similar problem with one touches with this set? I’m trying to not jam it in there...might just have to settle with toploaders with the tier 4 this time around.

I store them in penny sleeves and regular card boxes. Anything of value goes into penny sleeve/top loader/team bag. I never stored valuable MM cards in one touches but noticed when I purchased them in one touches they came damaged. Not sure if they were already like that but the corners and edges showed more white. I understand especially for 2018 they came like that but I saw this with 2016 cards too. Anyway I know it isn't pretty but thats how I store the cards. If I want to flip through something I use the Jusko book.
