Now comes the fun part. Let's see what TR can do at the Winter Meetings next week. I expect Plouffe to be traded during then.

Well it looks like Ryan has come out and said that they do not plan to trade Plouffe. They must really believe in Sano in the OF or he is just trying to increase their trade leverage.

I certainly hope that they are just saying these things to keep some leverage in a potential Plouffe trade. I thought the days of Delmon Young, Josh Willingham, and Oswaldo Arcia in the OF were past but if Sano is actually moving there it could be watching that defense all over again. Granted we haven't seen Sano out there yet so he could be decent, but I wouldn't count on it. I am not the biggest fan of Plouffe and despite his #'s feel he is a bit overrated and will likely start declining soon. Need to move him and get some value while they can.

I would hope he would say that we are keeping him. If they want to move him telling the whole world that he's for sale pretty much means that the team that wants him doesn't have to give up as much as if we were "saying" that we wanted to keep Plouffe. I really don't want to see Sano in the OF.

I like Plouffe, would love to him to stay with the team in a perfect world. But this isn't a perfect world. It makes no sense to try to put Sano in the OF. Trade Plouffe, put Sano at 3rd, platoon Mauer and Park at 1B/DH. I hate to see Plouffe go, but it is what should be done

Glad he's gone. Wonderful guy, very enjoyable to meet and talk to for a few min at Twinsfest, but never gave us much of anything on the mound. We gave him too many chances

I did not. It has been sold a few times in the past couple months, getting lower and lower every time and the past couple times by the same seller. Not sure if he is just running into NPB or someone is shilling it up, but it is still a little out of my range. I like Trevor May, but not enough to drop $140+ on it. I would much rather pick up another GU jersey of his at TwinsFest for those prices.

Huh, that's weird. Good thinking tho. Hopefully it drops lower and you can snag it for that rainbow!

Speaking of GUed stuff at Twinsfest, I'm trying to decide if I'm going to go on Friday this year to try to get some of the good yard sale stuff before it sells out right away. Hasn't been much stuff there at decent prices when I've gone even on Saturday morning

It's just too small of an area. Last year's was the worst of TF I've ever seen.

I'll need to start selling some TF lots of cards.

I can agree with that. They limit how many people are in there at a time, but they let too many in too. Would be great if they could move it to one of those rooms on the clubhouse level where one of the autograph stations are and relocate the station. More space would be great

Twinks need to make up their mind if they're moving him or not. Is Sano playing in the OF or isn't he? Will Plouffe be here or not?

It makes sense to move him and let Sano play 3rd, so that's what I hope they will do despite the fact that I like Plouffe. I do hope they are able to get something more than a reliever for him tho. If all we can get is some bullpen arm I've never heard of, it seems like we'd be selling pretty low. No, he's not a top 5 3B. But he's proven himself as a very capable, every day 3B with some good pop

Exactly. Sano is more of a detriment to the team in the OF than at 3B.

I think we can maybe get a Rex Brothers type and potentially another arm. I love Rex, had a bad year but not worried, he'll bounce back. Sucks Cubs signed him :/.

I'm sure all they will get for him is a single reliever, maybe a nobody prospect or a PTBNL. I just wish they would shoot for more

Right, Sano will be just fine. There have been plenty worse.

Depends on the market if they want an aging 3B that could have been past his peak. I don't know if we can really get more than one reliever, but here's to hope! We need major league ready relievers, not necessarily a prospect.

Didn't see this earlier. I wouldn't call him aging yet, he's 29, won't be 30 til halfway thru next season. Not really declining, but not getting a lot better either. I just predict we won't get much for him. I've seen the Twins trade players too many times for nobody prospects. We've already done that a few times this offseason. Time to start building for now/the next few years rather than 5 years down the road. We have a super solid core, and we were right there at the end of last season. Let's start acting like it

So torn on bullpen help. Yeah we need it, but I feel like every time we trade for relievers, we overpay
