Opened my single hobby box today, poor results. Got base rookies of Rutschman, Harris and Henderson.

2 numbered orange foils, one of them being the Giants team card.

Surprisingly got an auto but it’s of a Royal not named Witt.

Ugh, yeah definitely disappointed

I did great on my Hanger Case definitely beat the odds with the Judge Camo and Julio RC Cup Gold /2023.

Was going to do another one but decided not to press my luck. So I grabbed a Jumbo and 2 Hobby boxes from BO. Surprised to see them still at $219 on Jumbo boxes. For sure the cheapest I've seen them since release. Hopefully they will be here today or Monday.

Anybody notice that quite a few of the 1988 Silver Pack autos are redemptions....

The fact that we're seeing redemptions for STICKER AUTOS tells me that Fanatics/Topps is having some serious operational problems.

How can be so oblivious to your own inventory that you put a player in the checklist despite not having any sticker autos on hand ?????

This is nothing new. There have been redemptions for sticker autos for years.

The problem is that they had all off-season to secure these autos, and they failed to do so. You would think with Fanatics swinging their dick around the hobby that they would be able to get more cooperation from the players.

Fanatics is still testing its limits w/ the hobby. We've not pushed back at all. They will keep getting worse.

No it's pretty clear they weren't packed out at this point. Perhaps they were meant to be a Series 2 insert and were accidentally included in the Series 1 odds on packaging or they could have originally planned for them to be included and a last minute change was made for whatever reason maybe a pack out issue or production issue etc...

Lower Tier (aka. Upper Deck) pulled their shenanigans with redemptions for YEARS,.....upwards of a decade or so,...before the hobby FINALLY said enough was enough! It took multiple lawsuits to be lodged against them & countless examples of bad media-exposure for governing bodies (eg. MLB/PA, NFL, NBA, etc.) to...."punish them" by terminating their licencing agreements, so the bottom line is this: Never say never! If Fanatics,....Poopnini, & Bottoms continue to stick it to the hobby, with terrible QC,....redemptions which often times go unfulfilled or filled by/with whatever they have laying around the warehouse, eventually, I would suppose that the hobby will push back. But WHEN, is the question.....???

Tried one last jumbo box as prices keep climbing. LCS had em at $220. I preordered at $150 originally. Of course in hindsight wish I would’ve just bought a case. Pretty happy with last box. Stephenson is SSP. Brown is /72

Upper Deck got sued (and banished) because they violated Topps copyrights with their 2009 & 2010 OPC baseball cards, not because of their issues with redemptions.

Picked up a hobby from Lids and pulled this redemption. Not sure who this ryan nolan guy is. LOL. Looking at checklist, this should be out of 25 at the worst. This should cover the box plus the retail i bought.

That my friend is a great box. I'd hold on to rhe Hunter Brown, my guess is it's worth a lot more this postseason than it is now.

I looked up the Brown was pretty surprised to see it selling around 100-120
That’s a lot for a rookie pitcher
He’s very good but it’s gonna take something special for that card to be worth double in fall. Especially considering how many premium cards he’ll have by then.

choke it up to bad luck.

You could go through all the red tape of sending in upc and box ID #'s to Topps and in the end 8-12 months later maybe get a $3 relic in the mail.

Sounds about right. I got a free topps project 2020 Card at the MLB store in NY after buying the box and then got rear ended on the west side highway on the way home. The gods told me to open that bottle of bourbon after opening the box and getting skunked..
