I went to urgent care this morning, I was really hoping they were going to diagnose an ear infection and call it a day. Sadly, no.

They have no idea what's wrong. No fever, no ear infection, no covid - their best guess is an irritated nerve that might be a precursor to shingles. kcuf if I know. I took a sick day from work and mostly kept away from the internet to get some rest. I slept 9 hours last night for the first time in like 10 years.

Every 20 seconds I feel like someone is stabbing me in the side of the head and it literally makes me wince with pain each time. Thankfully 400mg of advil keeps it at bay. So I'm enjoying a cocktail of Zyrtec, Flonase (allergy meds to keep those things out of the equation), and Advil. I'll give it a couple of days and then if it's not better I'll have to see what a real doctor can figure out.

Did you get the shingles vaccination? Hopefully whatever it is, you beat it soon. Too many sick people in this thread.

So my wife's CT scan was finally approved by the insurance company and she is scheduled for tomorrow. The youngest SD is having a test of her kidneys tomorrow as well and has to drink that nasty liquid crap tonight.

So the subcontractor who decided to go to Ethiopia and try and telework with his Coast Guard laptop has infuriated the Coast Guard leadership. Not only did they deny his request to telework, they asked why they weren't informed earlier (of which my boss responded that he didn't inform us), and they want the laptop turned over for security scans prior to it coming back on a Coast Guard network.

Honestly I was going to give him one last chance and if he failed to do his monthly reports again holding them up for Government submittal, he was gone. Based on the e-mails this morning, I believe I'm just going to request his removal.
