Was 36 packs in before I got something numbered, but did okay in the end.

Piedmont: 80, including 2 Luis Robert and 4 Dustin May.
Sweet Caporal: Betts, Devers, McGwire, Gehrig, Bauer, Clemens x 3, Winfield, Galarraga, McCutchen.
Sovereign: Acuna, deGrom, Puckett, Thome, Smith, Devers, Banks, McCovey.
Polar Bear: Devers, Galarraga, Flaherty.
Old Mill: Galarraga, Kim RC.
Cycle Back: Mark McGwire 21/25.
Blank Back: CC Sabathia 6/10.

And in the next to last pack...
Barry Zito Autograph.

Is there any way to differentiate the series of unopened packs? I purchased four boxes of each series, but I assumed the boxes would be marked accordingly.

AFAIK, all 5 series use the same box design; nobody in the thread has said otherwise. You would have had to keep them separated on your own. Some people who have sold on eBay left the shipment sealed in the original box from Topps and printed out their purchase email with the tracking info so that you could verify they were the same series.

Series 1, 2, 3, and 4 have American Beauty, which are serial numbered to 10. Series 5, only, has the "Blank Backs" which are also serial numbered to 10. So basically they ditched the American Beauty backs for series 5. Did did this type of thing throughout all the series with different backs being replaced with something else. Lots of twists and turns in this set, its amazing!!!!!!!!

I got a blank card in one of my boxes. I can't decide if it was an intentional spacer meant to throw off the box weighers, or just an error.

I opened 120 boxes, just the one blank.
