Same. I waited until I was 40 and found the right one. 10 years later I have these.

Life has never been more challenging or more rewarding. Good luck my friend. I hope you can find the jackpot I was lucky enough to fall into.

Livin' the dream...

We ended up with about 40 trick-or-treaters, the first 30 of which got full-sized candy bars, plus a few minis. Nice to have things in general getting back on track after the understandably lighter turnouts of the last two years.
You're one of the best houses to hit first.

We had a lot of kids inside the community building. I think it just started slow because of the rain and that was when my Son wanted to go out. He's starting to get that age where I think he just doesn't want to trick or treat anymore.

Well, they were doing something with my car yesterday as I received 2 engine idle warnings in my e-mail for the first time in months.

I am happy for you! Hope they had a great time trick or treating!

My oldest and I handed out candy while the youngest and my husband went trick or treating. He wasn't as into it either. My husband texted me that he can't wait for grandkids. *eek*

Not a fan of this new antibiotic. It is making me feel sick. I don't think I can go to work like this.

Am I the only one that gets a little unnerved when half or more of the parents walking around with their kids have beer or drinks in their hands?

Is it too much to let kids have a night of fun and be responsible? There were probably 10-15 houses last night in the development that had candy for the kids and a beer cooler for “the adults”. Even my daughters friends who came over last night to trick or treat made comments about it.

We put the portable fire pit in our driveway and hand out candy for the kids and nips for the adults. It was a little slow at first but it picked up nicely.

I have a great Michael Myers costume that weirdly got the most positive reaction from a child.

Lighten up Francis

That said, I declined multiple offerings of beer/spiked cider

Interpretation of an email I received this morning would be best summarized as, “I’m a cuck. That’s it. That’s the news. Other people fornicate with my sig other while I watch.”

I don’t know.

Feels dumb and selfish. It’s one thing to sit around at the end of your driveway and pass out candy with a beer. It’s another to be in charge of a group of 6 kids as they walk around, on your 3rd beer.

Too many cars out and too much chaos not to be an adult.

Sounds like hyperbole.

Wish it was. No joke I saw adults stumbling last night at 6pm, walking with kids.

Not to mention, my daughters friends asking “why do so many houses have beer out with the candy?”

The last 3 halloweens we’ve been here there were 2, maybe 3 houses with Jell-O shots. The development is now ~100 houses and last night there were about 20 houses set up with beer and shots to give out.

At what point do you just kinda grow up and be responsible?

I'm with J-Nick and C-Dawg on this. Adults escorting kids around can lay off the alcohol for a few hours to focus on their charges. And I did have fun in college

Sorry to hear that, can you ask for an alternative if the side effects are bad enough?

Ok, having a couple/few beers is one thing. Stumbling is quite another. I agree the latter should not be happening.

I've never seen houses give out beers to adults while kids are trick or treating. It seems a very odd thing to do since Halloween Trick or Treating is for kids.

I guess I'm getting old or maybe it's because I drank booze like a fish when I was young and in the military, but I feel the same as Nick. It's a pretty sad state of affairs if you can't give up alcohol for 2 hours to do something with your kid.
