The great thing about teaching Sports History?

I cancelled class for next Monday and told them their "assignment" is to watch the US-Wales World Cup match.

Said I would see them again after Thanksgiving. Now time to work on the dissertation.......

I start every class off with a "Sports Update" discussing some of the big sports stories of the week and today we did discuss FIFA's decision to label "Human rights for all" a "political message" and ban it. Also the issue of "fake fans" and the lack of alcohol sales.

It would be fascinating to put together a timeline showing when people were most active on a month-to-month or year-to-year basis. See who was routinely posting in 2017 vs 2020 vs today.

Her eyebrows went up went I mentioned there were a handful of females who post regularly. I told her JustRachel was basically her grandmother off her meds.

But you are good. I described you as "basically Kate Dykes".

(Kate Dykes is our good friend who lives in Pennsylvania and has a personality very similar to yours. In other words, your husband probably has a very similar to my college roommate.)

At one time, I was leading glen for the most posts in this thread. I took a few months of from posting on BO because I got tired of the BS bullying and ganging up on people that occurs when one posts an opinion on something in the sports threads.

On the DC news coverage thread about the accident someone said the woman in the SUV was a school teacher at the middle school right there. Apparently the tanker rolled over going around the curve onto MD-210 while responding to the house fire in PG County and landed on the car.

Anne Arundel County FD Squad 4 had been down the road training at Naval District Washington Stump Neck and came upon the accident when they were leaving to go home and called it in.
