He's struggling to hit the high fastball, the book is out on him. He knows it, hopefully he can correct it.

Trout, it could be numerous things. It wasn’t that he took his 240+ pound frame into a stationary bag. We know that wasn’t the cause but he isn’t “right”. The high fastball theory doesn’t cover the scope of his struggle. I don’t buy that as to his situational struggles where he has excelled to a degree of reaching base like Barry Bonds and Ted Williams. Acuna, injuries by making plays that increase their image of value but diminish their ability for availability. The most vital aspect of a skill set is to have it perform. I’ll take that being as a hitter in the lineup since hitting a round ball with a round bat is the hardest skill set in all sports. WAR - risk vs reWARd - make a great catch increase DWar or steal a base and increase oWAR while being re-placed. Last edited by Stifle; 06-10-2023 at 10:08 AM. |

Definitely needs a day off here, surprised he hasn’t had one in a while. He seems to be pressing and having a tough time getting out of this current funk

I pitched some in HS. I know throwing motions and human anatomy. I think he has bicep tendinitis w/ a mild labrum tear of the throwing shoulder.

He went his entire prime without ever having a single meaningful postseason moment.

Yet ? Let’s hope he doesn’t end his career like Dale Murphy and I believe Bobby Bonds all were swept in 3 games while struggling and never went again. Murphy and Bonds have not been selected to the Hall and I believe if they had strong Post Season careers, that probably would have changed enough voters.

The greatness of Banks and his two MVP’s is close to resembling the 80’s Dale Murphy legacy. If anyone thinks that Murphy would have pulled a Randy Arozarena for his career Post Season accomplishments and be left off with 2 MVP’s, unlikely. To believe that the Post Season merits nothing for a players accomplishments for enshrinement. That is a huge oversight. |

Ernie Banks - 68 WAR (126th) 19 years in the bigs. I realize WAR isn't the end all be all, and yes Postseason performance plays its part in a players legacy, but I think you're missing Mike Trouts sustained greatness just a little bit here. Sent from my SM-G991U using Tapatalk |

I guess we can do Dale as well.
18 seasons, 46 WAR, 381st. The 2 MVPs are a huge peak but Dale was just a "good" player for much of his career. Postseasons don't have much to do with his lack of induction to me. Sent from my SM-G991U using Tapatalk |
