I would think a 2nd Year Tranny is an obscure card for most of the hobby. I can't tell you the last time I went to a show and even saw a Tranny for sale (any player). I showed one of my Acuna's to a guy (who was selling a lot of high end modern - all sports)...his reply: "I've not ever seen one of these".

It's a second year card, but Soto's first base from the set.

Similar to the 2019 TC Sapphire...

well yeah totally get that, my point was that the LCS and Card Show crowd...barely know the sets even exists. Tranny is a "true" collectors type of card.

The Transcendent set is kind of a WTF release with its incredible price, distribution, plus VIP party every year. Perhaps others don't find them appealing but I have to imagine they've at least heard of or are aware of the set's existence.

It is, after all, "that crazy-ass $25,000 per box" issue.

Funny thing is that I just checked...total pop is 6 for the base card, three 9's and three 10's. Coulda got more!

Might be time to have a thread discussing the various print runs of modern releases and reexamine what should be considered "limited." I think we all agree that the base shuffle isn't rare but it's also clearly not an easy pull if you were of the mind to rip some packs in the hopes of landing one.

We may need to recalibrate what we consider "plentiful." This is just bonkers.

Just to put the print run of refractors and xfractors into perspective, here is the breakdown from page 820 for the shuffle card:

superfractor 1:1333 hobby, 1:1325 blaster

310,000 / 1333 = 232.5
196,540 / 1325 = 148

total ~381. ~95% of the 400 total.

Could be more like 670 refractors and 520 xfractors. If you add about 5% to each.
