These are almost all from 1995 Marvel Metal and 1990 Marvel Universe Series 1.

Expected date was 7/29 and they are already pretty much done as of 5/30 - less than 1 month. And I absolutely crushed it. This will be a very lucrative submission, but more importantly I'm trying to build the PSA 10 sets for these so this is incredible.

Question.

I sent in a shipment Tuesday for one of the May specials, but the tracking shows it hasn't arrived. If it does not arrive today, am I out of luck? Or because it was postmarked this month they'll grade it regardless?

You just have to submit your order before the offer expires (5/31), then ship before the form expires...I think it's 30 days. It'll say "Ship your items by June x, 2024 " if you view your submission online, and there is a "Form Expires" date on your copy of the submission form.

Anyone have advice on cracking the new slabs yet? I just cracked a $1500 or so card (doubles in price if it gets the 10 it should) and had way too many close calls.

Put the slab in the freezer for 2-3 hours and use a circular saw on the corners. It pries open easier when its not as malleable.

Snip the top of the slab off from side to side (inside the seal at the top). Then carefully snip one side of the slab inside the seal. Pry open the top and side that you cut and carefully slide out the card. Takes about 5-10 minutes after some practice.

The new slabs weigh 2.0 ounces, the old ones 1.6 ounces, so weigh them first to see what you are facing. The older slabs take about 5 seconds to crack.

Had this happen in december. mailed it out like 12/22, got lost in the mail, didnt arrive until late january, and they still honored the december special price

4/29 TCG special of 29 cards popped late last week. It was in Assembly for about a week before popping. 28/29 gem. Relatively cheap cards but not a bad stop at the LCS a couple months ago.

Curious how other people's numbers compare between the two sites.

YTD for post-2000 sports cards (mostly ultra modern football and basketball)

PSA - CA 479/580 82.6% gem rate over 15 orders

PSA - NJ 93/141 66% gem rate over 4 orders.

Small sample size, but the NJ orders had a similar composition set-wise to the rest.
They also included my only 2 orders where the gem rate was close to 50. My lowest gem % from CA was 75, so maybe those numbers get closer with more submissions.

When I submitted TCG I never found much difference b/w the sites, and I'm guessing that might hold true for sports products that are more likely to be almost flawless, but I don't have enough data to go by.
