Yes & no. I know case breakers are driving up wax prices but have never paid much attention to the whole spectacle. This P2020 race to the bottom is fascinating albeit a bit disturbing.

Here’s another eBay cancel bidder to add to your block lists.

Can someone explain to me the logic of buying one of these /100k Griffeys on eBay from someone who doesn’t have it in hand? Or the logic of selling it at below the Topps price?

You need to reach out to the buyers and try to explain your situation. Likely not much you can do and you'll end up owing ebay.

Second, if low print run is so alluring and you're trying to profit (not strictly collecting for the sake of collecting), wouldn't topps gold rookies /2018 of acuna/soto/gleyber be better purchases? I believe those can all be had cheaper than some of the low print runs of project 2020

They have very different allures. I personally would collect project 2020 all day over a gold border Topps. I know many others feel differently. I don't collect much baseball nowadays. This has changed that for me.

Disclosure, I don't own any of the aforementioned cards, including from the project 2020 set.

Most cards are already down 60% or more, so you are saying we are close to the bottom?

Also can we please have some of the few who profited from this parlay their winnings into a $15,000 box of NT basketball?

I can’t speak for everyone but I posted the top ten cards I like, and asked others to do the same. I said it didn’t have anything to do with value, price, or speculation. Just the cards I think are the coolest.

I don't know if I can answer this question properly as I don't follow MLB or collect modern baseball cards but as someone who grew up on baseball cards I love this set. Griffey & Frank Thomas were my favorite players growing up. It's exactly the type of set I like collecting.

I was in the process of trying to acquire certain low print runs to catch up on a couple players/artist sets when the market went crazy so I had to pause.

Very easy to see the people who missed the boat early and have been PRAYING for this type of pullback to talk again. The pump really got some people salty af.

I’m paying $3.60, they’ve already decreased 10% since this post.

What's the odds I could get a Ermsy Ichiro for $80-$100 sometime this year? That's one I would like to add to my collection.

That I absolutely understand.... Collectors should collect what makes them happy. But there is definitely a large subset on this thread (still) buying strictly in an effort to make money.
