I've read the bolded a few times and I can't stop laughing. There's no way you are older than 14.

Actually I would not classify Punk as a complete jobber there. His record was 12-12 in matches from what I can find. So not a complete jobber.

That, and by putting the title on Ambrose, they can tout one more person as current/former champion when they are dividing them up.

Good call. Would have been a great setup to the inevitable 3-way feud.

Reigns and Rollins are both "owed" rematches, so there's no need to muddy things up to get to a 3-way. If they want to prolong the feud, then they can do the Reigns/Ambrose friendship breakup.

Woods mentions The Elite. Weird ending - New Day does finisher on Anderson, then pins English. I expected any team besides The New Day to win. Don't know where they all go from here.

******************************************************************
Baron Corbin / Dolph Ziggler (Prediciton: Corbin)
Ziggler botches the spot off the steps. Slow paced match, picks up steam at the end. Corbin wins.

******************************************************************
Charlotte & Dana Brooke / Becky Lynch & Natayla (Prediction: Becky & Naty)
"we want Sasha" chant starts almost immediately. Charlotte & Dana win after some heel tactics. Good heel turn by Naty, WWE was going out of their way to make her a loser. Heat for Naty, sympathy for Becky. Good move.

******************************************************************
Sheamus / Apollo Crews (Prediction: Crews)
Sheamus has a pretty sweet beard. It's a good look for an eventual face turn, assuming he gets rid of the mohawk. Crews wins as Sheamus argues the ref's count. That means this feud continues.

******************************************************************
John Cena / AJ Styles (Prediciton: Styles)
Great match, but it was absolutely killed with the finish. This PPV really put over the Magic Killer as a finish, both times it was used, it finished the match. At least Owens beat Cena clean. Styles did not. The announce team is still teasing that Styles isn't completely calling all the shots of The Club. If this is part of the narative, they are already highlighting the potential fracture point of this group., ie, Styles is not the real leader.

******************************************************************
MITB Ladder Match - Jericho / Cesaro / Zayn / DelRio / Owens / Ambrose (Prediction: Owens)
Good match. A couple of great spots. ADR looked surprisingly solid.
Ambrose wins. IMO, this isn't good. I'm guessing this sets up the Shield triple threat that everyone but me has been waiting for, at Summerslam.
This should have gone to Owens.

******************************************************************
Rusev / Titus O'Neil (Prediction: DQ or countout)
Titus came out to crickets. Don't know why he has a title shot. I think this should have switched spots with Sheamus/Crews. Rusev wins clean. Hopefully this feud is over.

******************************************************************
Seth Rollins / Roman Reigns (Prediction: Reigns)
So Rollins is the heel, huh? Wouldn't have known based on those entrance reactions. I'm not liking how many times the announce crew is bringing up The Authority. Seth seems out of character. This match seems slower and more like a power match than Rollins' previous matches.
Rollins wins??!? Something isn't right.
Okay, so Ambrose cashes in and in the least believable cash in ever, Ambrose wins.

I honestly don't get it. With all the potential challengers for the belt, NONE of them sound intriguing:
Ambrose / Reigns . Nope
Ambrose / Rollins. Done to death, this would be their 3rd feud in 2 years.
Ambrose / Lesnar or Cena or Orton or Wyatt or Owens. No thanks.
Ambrose / Styles. No.
Ambrose / Balor or Samoa Joe or another NXT call-up. Please no.
Other than the Shield triple threat, which is 1 year too late, I don't get where they go from here.
Why should it have gone to Owens over Ambrose? Here's my take, Owens is still at the point in his career where he can win something else like a Rumble or MITB next year. He has only been on the main roster for 13 months. Ambrose on the other hand has been on the roster for 3 1/2 years and has been teased as a big time player, but never reaches that point. At some point Ambrose gets surpassed and he never gets a chance. If he wasn't going to get the chance now, then when would he have gotten it? Would he have ever got it if it wasn't now? Ambrose loses so much, you have to give the guy a bone.

I dont think it's that at all. In the event that the briefcase was still floating around after the split, Ambrose would have been the perfect person to be holding it. If he was on Smackdown, but the champion was on Raw, it would be believable that Ambrose showed up on the wrong show to tease a cash in. "What's that lunatic doing here? Doesn't he know he's on the wrong show?" etc.

The one and only reason they did it was to get to the Shield triple threat in time for Summerslam. I'm guessing that they originally planned it for Mania, but then Seth got injured.

The fact that the loses so much is the reason why he's not an interesting champion. I only say that Owens should have won, because the possible slate of matches is far more intriguing with Owens than Ambrose.

Ambrose just got squashed by Lesnar at Mania. The feud with Rollins has been done 2 times, in full, in the last 2 years. Ambrose/Reigns isn't exciting, at all. A feud with Styles or Cena might be alright, but Styles and Cena will still be going for a while, so they're both out. Those are all the top feuds. Some of the secondary feuds would be Wyatt (already done), Orton (that doesn't seem main event worthy) or maybe Triple H (he is still technically owed a rematch).

Now take those matches and insert Owens instead of Ambrose. Every single story, other than Cena which was already done, instantly becomes fresh and exciting. JMO, of course.

To me, it's like if Cena was holding the belt, then Orton wins the briefcase. Ambrose was the safe pick. He's supposed to be the unpredictable lunatic, but he was the most boring, bland, vanilla pick they could have went with.

Owens is boring as crap and is nowhere near world champ material.

There's no build for champions any more. Dean, Roman, etc. None of them were ready either. Wwe has been flying by the seat of their pants for the past 5 years. They just toss anything they can at the wall and hope that it sticks. And when it doesn't they go okay how about this guy.

Which is why they need to switch his character up. I know he can do better because I have seen it. Not sure how well you know Ambrose outside of 2012 till now, but he is capable of better from a character perspective.

But the thing is, Ambrose could have been inserted into the title picture with Roman and Seth at any time, without needing the briefcase. They didn't use the briefcase to create anything new, but rather to build on a story they already had going, because someone like Cesaro or Zayn or Owens ISN'T going to immediately win the title, and I think they don't even know yet where those guys are going, or even how they're going to handle the title/titles after the draft.

Ambrose only fits with them because he is a former shield member. He needed this MITB victory more than anyone. In 1 night you made him a threat, but now WWE has to continue to make him look legit and tweak his character.

Owens will be fine, give him the Rumble or MITB next year. I think WWE needed the buzz off a Ambrose cash in vs Owens holding the briefcase for months and then cashing in.

Anybody else have a feeling that Reigns may get the belt back tonight? I have no knowledge that it happens but I could see that being something that Vince would do. Have the belt change hands twice in one night to get people to tune into RAW tonight and then put the belt back on "The Guy".

If the goal is to get people to further hate Reigns, that would do it.

Agreed. And thats going to be boring as hell for me, because none of them interest me. Owens, Cesaro, AJ Styles, Or even Cena at this point are all way more intersting than than a "OMG a 3way with all the Shield members" BLAH

I'm gonna assume this is a ploy for another 3 on 1 against Cena...
