One of the main reasons I believe he will stay in Milwaukee is he has had to work for everything he has gotten in life. He won't just take the easy way out to compete for a championship and join up with some other superstar somewhere else. He also loves the laid back Milwaukee community where he doesn't get hounded by the media for quotes and the general public when he goes out places like he would if he was in LA or NY.

“After this day, July 14, please, please, please do me a huge favor, so I can be better, I can be a better player, so I can bring this city a championship. Please don’t call me MVP. Listen, listen, listen, listen. Please, after this day, don’t call me MVP until I win it again next year.”

2 of the best 5 players in the NBA, would love to see them go at it every May in the ECF for the next 5+ years.

Philadelphia is a much larger city than MIL. Also, Embiid is the unrivaled, utterly loved sports king of a city with 4 major sports teams, it's hard to improve from there. And ownership stood by him and built around him every step of the way even when he didn't play a minute the first two years due to a broken navicular bone in practice. Of course both could stay, or leave in 2 and 4 years respectively. But if Giannis leaves, all other things being equal [they never are], the 76ers would be the heavy favorites in the East given their young core players, Embiid's title path would be much simpler than if he wanted to go to the Knicks [lol].

Bucks felt that with Brogdons injury history and the fact they performed just fine without him in the playoffs that he was the most expendable of the bunch. Sixers weren't able to keep everyone either for whatever reasons. That's not a big vs. small market thing. Great for Embiid being the king of the city while Giannis is damn near the king of the entire NBA playing in Milwaukee. He said he wouldn't consider going to a place like LA, and why should he? (Queue the KD and Kyrie quotes). Milwaukee took a chance on him and he's adored and loved here, which he has said numerous times how thankful he is.

Giannis is worse at hitting a baseball off a tee than my 8 year old. That I do know.

As much as I'm a fan of players staying with 1 team their entire career...I don't think that's a concrete reality for any modern player.
To put things into perspective, Westbrook was the last man standing for guys with the longest tenure with one team before this summer began. We can all point to the fact that player x loves the hometeam, the fans, and is humble...but ultimately the new free agency landscape gives players better access to championships...and championships are the only things that matter in the longrun when measuring a player's legacy. I point to Aaron Rodgers. He's like Giannis in the fact that he's got an early MVP and has had a high level of individual success, but his relationship with the team has been less than stellar over the past few years. Biggest difference with Arod and Giannis is that Arod got the championship monkey off his shoulder early. I think if the Bucks don't win within the next few seasons, Giannis has a high probability of bolting. Just how the league is these days. This applies to any superstar. |

Looks like a couple people are having fun... 50%, 100%, 100% and 50% bid activity for the top 4 bidders.
