When I was getting back into cards in 2019, I told my dad which packs I'd buy at the store (Optic, Chronicles) and he'd sometimes buy them when picking up groceries. Just before the pandemic I told him Luka and Trae cards were becoming really valuable so he went through what he bought and pulled what he found (he found a Luka Purple Optic back then as the biggest hit).

Well, today was the first time I was able to visit since then and I went through it all and he missed a ton of Luka rookies. Found about 30 Lukas and 20 Traes altogether from Optic, Chronicles, and Status. Pretty awesome. My dad even kept them in the original packs so it felt like I was ripping open the packs myself. All base, but still awesome to find.

Nice! Nice to find those types of discoveries. Most know my Luka collection grew from just that type of random opening. I know I have at least 15-20 different Luka PSA 10 rookies and multiples in my collection now..

Yep! The best part was that I had sold my Status Luka and Traes for super cheap in the summer of 2019 and now I've got 3 Traes and 2 Lukas again! Oh, also my dad just gave them to me because, as he put it, "they'd just sit in a dresser until [he] dies."

Ive listed the Status /77 on Myslabs with a high bin for kicks , set the bar high for a minimal offer , offer came last night at 5k. Does this card still has room to grow? I mean at 3k or 750$ like the comps ive been getting from January 2020 its a definite keeper. At 5k leaning towards letting it go.

I saw that posted on MySlabs - great card! I'm definitely no expert but I'd probably let it go for $5k and try to pick up something else numbered from a more desirable set or a numbered on card auto of some sort. Status is discontinued unless it shows up in Chronicles (are we getting a 20-21 Chronicles release?) and despite having an underdog "status", I don't think it's gonna get searched for much in the future.

Personally I'd sell it at that price. I sold my Die Cut a few months ago for 5k off ebay which was considerably more than comps at that point. Prices for Status were almost double then what they are now. Considering the Status is pop 26 and the Die Cut is a pop 7 and also considering current prices, I'd move that one.

Man there's some insane Lukas at Nationals. Stopped by a booth where a guy had a BGS 9 Black Gold Prizm rookie he valued at 1 mil, and a select courtside copper and tiger stripe I didnt even ask about.

They graded alot of regular base as `Status` , if you look at the PSA database sales last 10 sales were clearly not the /77 version. Pretty sure the real pop is below 20 , 21 max.

Considering this card could be bought for 100$ or less in December 2019 , its kind of crazy

Just got a PSA sub back after 9 months. Grader killed me for the most part but I still love some blue Luka.

Luka was pretty much non-existent at the show. A few nice items here and there, but people are clearly holding until the fall given current prices.

That what I thought was happening. No one more as focused on Luka cases in vlogs. Was hoping one of my national buddies would find my chronicles elite red PSA 10. Oh well.

Collectors are definitely holding until closer to pre-season. The higher end Lukas I did see were insanely overpriced for the most part.

I wanted to bid on it but already spent my monthly budget on a whole bunch of Mahomes galactics a few weeks ago. Dr kicker - this is the type of move I'd make with that /77 Status. Sell it for $5k and then try to snag something like the Green Crusade /25 for $2500 and walk away with money and IMO a nicer card.

I'm taking Status all day over Crusade any color minus Gold, Bronze, and 1/1. Crusade is just another Chronicles card. Only 122 numbered Status parallels. Retail only product. Cult following. There's a reason why the numbered stuff doesn't come up for sale anymore.
