I picked these up last month. It's been fun buying while prices are down a bit. I'm really happy to have these PSA 9's.

My sense was that most dealers were holding onto the Big Lukas's at the National. With Slovenia doing so well in the Olympics and the season starting in two months, most people didn't want to sell at the bottom.

LJ's card shop had these two big boys (along with other logomans) out on Thursday, but then put them back in the Vault the rest of the weekend. They were taking offers only.

What was the asking price on the psa 9? I saw a bgs 9.5 with a price tag of 50k and owner wasn't budging much.

Yep, I was told $25k as well which seemed a little high but not terrible. I believe the last psa 9 did $20k a few weeks ago.

I think Luka Optic Blues are undervalued (or the Prizm Blues are overvalued).

I also think 2018 Optic is a tougher grade in general compared to 2018 Prizm, but the pop gives Optic Blue a 24% gem rate while Prizm Blue is 18%. Small sample size but was surprised to find those %s

Either way, I think buyers are stashing these.

Yeah that doesn't seem absurd and sure it's higher than most recent comps but go find another blue on eBay right now for $20k.

Mainly talking numbered, SP, or auto.

Maybe look for a nice raw silver prizm or a Blue Chrome card (Optichrome, Crusade Phoenix).

Silvers are plentiful but if/when Luka stuff goes up, these are the crowd favorites.

I’m not a huge fan of raw.

I currently on a crown crystal true gem, chronicles /25 psa 9 and a ruby PSA 9. Will likely move the ruby and put that money towards a better piece in the $1500-2250 range

You might be able to get a phoenix blue 9.5 around 2k

- PSA 9 select blue die cut /249
- PSA 9 nba hoops blue 268
- PSA 9 red ice prizm (a lot lower pop than pink ice and just looks better IMO)
- PSA 9 optic holo
- Phoenix or crusade blue /99

That would be my list of under $2K cards
