Thoughts on a mint update black value at this point? Would really like to pick one up.

Prices are rising after hitting .236 in the playoffs thus far with several OF errors?

Always that one guy. Ignores the 2 clutch hits that kept them in the playoffs and the 56 home runs before the age of 21.

He made 2 fantastic plays in the outfield last night and had 2 big hits in a series clinching victory. Also a game winning hit in the WC game, and a game-tying HR in the 9th inning of the 5th NLDS game. Although I think you already knew all this, just wanted to be contrarian. He has been as clutch in the big moments of the postseason as you could possibly be.

Are those two clutch hits not factored in to his postseason batting average? I must have missed that advanced metric.

If we’re going to focus on clutch hits then Howie Kendricks chrome autos should be $2K after hitting the GS in game 5 of the NLDS and getting the MVP in the NLCS.

Would you rather him have struck out in both those at bats and batted .300 for the series? You make it seem like .236 is terrible, it’s such a small sample size. He’s 100% done more to help his cause then hurt it. See Bellinger as an example of a postseason flop.

Either way I expect both Soto and Acuna to see big increases over the offseason. I don’t think many people are looking to sell either player at this point of their careers so supply will dry up.

I’m not saying he hasn’t contributed to the WS push, I’m just saying that I wouldn’t necessarily attribute price increases to his playoff performance at this point.

I would say it’s probably a mixture of a great regular season, some nice postseason hits, National media exposure, and potential to have a great WS.

You made me want to see how he did in this series, as it didn't seem so clutch... honestly, this was a pretty bad series for him (and I didn't even mark his errors below). Look he's young, and probably pressing too much. But at least 3-4 Nationals players were probably more valuable than him in this NLCS.

Game 4: 2 for 4; 1 RBI
AB #1 - man on 2nd - DOUBLE + RBI
AB #2 - man on 1st - fly out
AB #3 - none on - line out
AB #4 - none on - single

Game 3: 0 for 3; 1 BB, 2 K
AB #1 - man on 1st - K
AB #2 - man on 2nd - BB
AB #3 - man on 1st - fly out
AB #4 - none on - K

Game 2: 0 for 3; 2K
AB #1 - man on 1st - K
AB #2 - none on - K
AB #3 - two on - pop out (both players on base batted home by next two batters... he missed getting a R at minimum)

Game 1: 1 for 5; 2K
AB #1 - man on 1st - K
AB #2 - none on - ground out
AB #3 - bases loaded - ground out to end the inning
AB #4 - two on 1st / 3rd - K (only 1 out so he missed a sac fly chance, at minimum)
AB #5 - none on - single

Or you’re way overthinking it. Goldschmidt struck out like 7 times in a row. Doesn’t make him terrible. As Aaron Rodgers once said R E L A X. Enjoy the ride this offseason with both...and Gleyber.

Bigger point was about your Bellinger comment... I don't know if Bellinger was even as bad as Soto was in this series, and was painted into a corner from it. Hope it doesn't tarnish his brand the same way.

Soto and Acuna are correlated. If either one falls off career wise or gets injured people are gonna panic, which will pull down the price of the other as people realize prices can actually go down.

Acuña had a terrific postseason. A shame his teammates didn’t help him.

Life is a balance. We have people that look at things through rose-colored glasses, and others that don’t want to see what others do.

What I see above is:

- “1 for 4”

- DOUBLE + RBI

- single

Wierd.

No kidding. If the middle of the order had done ANYTHING we’d have blown by the birds.
