I love that Deboer benched Oettinger tonight. Send a message. He had given up 15 goals in the last 3 games and 8 minutes. And had lost 6 of 7 to Edmonton. Ott wasn't getting it done, and Deboer did the right thing. I hate all the media is calling it stunning and unbelievable. Not it's not. Dude was pissing up a flag pole lately.

They got it done in 5. This series wasn't even close. And now the DFW is ridiculing DeBoer saying Dallas should replace him. They have made the conference finals 3 straight years. Why are they going to get rid of him? And they're calling the move to bench Ott stunning and unbelievable. No it's not. Ott gave up 15 goals in the last 3 games and 8 minutes. He needed to be benched.

Before these playoffs started I was thinking the Panthers beat Dallas in the SCF.

Right now I can't help but think the Oilers win the cup. It should be a great final rematch either way.

They were saying last night that this is only the 12th time there's been a repeat of teams in the Stanley Cup Finals.

The only two I can recall in my lifetime are Islanders/Oilers and Red Wings/Penguins.

And in both cases, the teams that lost the first one, won the second one...

Let's hope that streak continues

He's an elite level goalie and been one of their best players all playoffs, you do not pull him for Casey DeSmith at 2-0 with your season on the line. And you definitely don't sewer him in the presser like that. Probably gotta fire DeBoer now.

I can deal with the move after 2 goals on the first couple shots, even if they were tough chances.

The trashing afterwards is an awful look. What he said should have been the message to Oettinger in the locker room or in exit interviews, not in the press.

I hope Edmonton pulls it off this year. McDavid needs a Cup. Would be so devastating if a player of his calibre never won one in his career. I know he's still got a lot of road ahead of him, but he needs one.

Putting two years of not being able to get past Edmonton on ONE PLAYER is absolutely ridiculous.

And if he said that to me in the locker room in front of my teammates or in my exit interview, I'd be telling my agent and the GM that I want a trade ASAP.

You can't keep both at this point and if the coach stays, he's gonna lose the team (if he hasn't already), they'll be poop next year without a #1 goalie and he'll get canned anyway.

This has Roy in Montreal vibes written all over it and Roy ended up getting the better end of that fiasco...

Feels different this year. Ekholm getting to rest for 3 rounds was such a blessing for him. He looked incredible last night.

Draisaitl is healthy. Kane is healthy. And last night they were two of Edmonton's best players.

But once they got that quick one back, it only felt like a matter of time before they tied it up...

Definitely feels different this year, as long as Skinner can get that save percentage up...
