300 ABs, which is about half a season for an everyday guy.

Can't run out a guy with a .300 on-base, especially when you have a guy raking in Toledo who by all accounts is going to be an All-Star level hitter.

Don't annoint him just yet. All Star hitter? Based on Mud Hens competition? Last years numbers at AA were average, and this year's are very good but not stellar. He will hopefully be our left fielder of the future but there is no rush. Not being 5.5 games up on weak competition. Should worry more about replacing the closer than Dirks.

I said by all accounts is going to be, not is.

Castellanos struggled a ton in April, look at his numbers since May, he's showing plate discipline, and he can hit.

I have no issue if Dirks was average and hit 7th or 8th, but that's not the case. He's far below average, and with Avila's struggles, it hurts to have 2 very below average guys in the lineup on most days.

Garcia deserves it more than Castellanos. He's already performing very well in the bigs. Let Casty cook in AAA for awhile.

If this doesn't spell the end of it, then nothing will.

is it wrong i actually wanted that to happen so they can get rid of that fat a** already....how many times does it have to happen for them to realize it. When he does get a save its just because the batter misses the ball and normally those go to the warning track

I've been wanting him to blow saves too so that we can get rid of him

But not after 7 innings of shutout ball from JV, wanted the win for him today, let him screw up a Porcello win, hahaha

i just wish one of the leaders like jv would step up and tell management enough is enough...chances are he already has though lol The sad thing is it should never come to that, managers should be smart enough to know when someone consistantly loses games

Surprised Leyland yanked him, maybe the bromance is over with that idiot. I have no idea why the Tigers didn't go after Brian Wilson, he was and is available.

they might have

Wilson said he's not signing with a team until he feels he's back to 100%, so maybe he's still rehabbing

Yea cause that worked before. He is worse than Valverde. 1 pitch and everyone hits it out.

I was at the Baltimore game last Friday and had to do the "walk of shame" all the way back to the hotel. I get so tired of Valverde's antics, it is like he is saying "hey everyone, look at me". He touches his hat, his face, spits water, gets on one knee behind the mound, and calls the catcher out to talk. Just pitch the ball!! I know that relievers have their own character and gimmicks, but when it gets to the point of being annoying, it has to stop.
