This thread has taken a bit of an uptick..........damn these pickup's and sales are insane!!!!!

Anyone have an idea on a rough value of the retail red PSA 10? Only curious for my database and records keeping and don't feel that I can come up with a realistic value for myself.

I used to collect Mahomes rookies and non rookies....then I sold off all my non rookies........only to pick up a cool non rookie a few days ago. I'm still waiting for it to arrive.

Any of you guys collect non-rookies, and if so...what's your favorite?

I think 2nd and 3rd Prizms are cool, and can be found at a good price. I don’t know about future value, but they’re fun to collect.

Dollar-for-dollar, I prefer rare 2nd and 3rd year cards over low end rookies. I realize that's a minority view. Some of my favorites are 2018 Optic Gold, 2018 Unparalelled Galactic and Fireworks /5 and 2018 Prizm Silver. Right now I'm obsessed with my big summer pickup--2020 Spectra Champion Signatures PSA 10. Glad to finally get an auto and a rare card celebrating the 2020 SB win as both were huge gaps in the Mahomes PC.

More off the beaten path, I love my 2019 Select Snapshots Gold, Obsidian base, and rare Score parallels.

Given some of the commentary above on collecting rookies / non-rookies, I thought I would share a few pictures highlighting my recent PC pivot on Mahomes. It is nothing like these recent monster pick-ups from others on this thread (which are awesome…), but I have been picking Mahomes cards where I can put together a consecutive time series for each year in which the card is available. Obviously, some of these are harder and more expensive to put together, but it has added some fun to the hunt and re-energized me. Here are the first few where I was able to grab all four parallels from 2017 to 2020. Hopefully there will be more to follow…

I posed that very question to Mr. PattyMahomeBoy (toynk123 on IG) at the NSCC as he had one in his display case (think he also has a 9, or possibly two 10's?). He said ~$160k, but with the way high grade SSP Mahomes stuff had been going it might be closer $200k a month from now! He had some other sick cards as well, like a partial rainbow of 2017 Select Field Level BGS 10s, multiple Contenders Gems including Cracked Ice & Red Zone...aah, my eyes were hurting just looking at it all!

Thanks! To be completely honest, I actually think these 2017s are rather "dull" compared to subsequent years. Just being honest. I mean, obviously they're cool, but 2018, 2019, and 2020 golds just POP. Super shiny.

He's got amazing stuff. 160k seems a bit high, but it's obviously one of his most desirable cards and only 6 PSA 10s out there. There's like 3 or 4 guys on this board that have/had one and I tried to pry it from their greedy fingers for like 70k back in January but no one would budge (looking at you Earlsnake! lol)

I could definitely see 100-120k right now. It's a huge card.

My 2016 XRC Mahomes just arrived at PSA this morning. Already on step 3 of grading. Cracked out my BGS 9.5 (True Gem Plus) and sent it in. I’m so anxious, and am checking on grading updates every hour or so😂 Hoping for that phone call saying they are up-charging my $300 fee to $600 if it comes back a PSA 10 lol.

Super express. My cards have been graded super fast lately. I sent in a single card super express in early June, I got the grade back 2 days after it was entered into PSA.

Update: It just got onto Step 4 (Grading). Maybe I’ll get the grade back in the next few days (if I’m lucky)

Things are going quicker lately. Had a Standard last week go from grading to assembly on Friday, QA 1 on Monday, QA2 on Tuesday and shipped on Friday.

I get numbered stuff... Rare inserts... Love it all as Mahomes is my favorite athlete ever... Too much cool stuff tho and I'm not rich.. These 2 are probably my favorite inserts... Also color match whenever I can

Agreed, though I’ve seen 2nd year colored/numbered Prizm parallels start to command higher prices. Recently picked up a 2018 green crystals /75 and a silver
