To be fair, I think I screwed up. Either one vintage card got a high grade and they are waiting to upcharge me, which is possible, or they are dealing with a card that might not be part of the special. I sent a 1962 Topps Stamp as a "card" and maybe they didn't like that I did that.

I actually just came back to reply to this thread. I just got a Green Check on one of my two, 30 card orders.

Upcharge is good news man! Best of luck.

Nov 16-30 1980-1999 Special - 67 cards
This one went into grading a couple days ago.
A card where you can see a defect without magnification should automatically be a 9 these days...so anyone sending that in should expect a 9 and be surprise if a 10 comes back. If sending in hoping to catch a good grader, be ready for disappointment. When hunting for 10s, anything I can see with a corner defect automatically goes into a do not grade pile.

Upcharge is the least likely. Most likely they are either trying to slab the stamp or cracking the cards that were slabbed to give me a lower grade.

So I sent an email to PSA a few days ago and actually got a reply back today.

I had a December special bulk TCG order received on 1-8-25.

As of today it's still in order arrived state (so 1-29-25 there has been no progress or movement).

The email said as of today (1-29-25) they are currently entering orders arrived on 1-6-25.

There is a huge back up due to all the orders they received in December/early January.

I still have an order in R&ID since 11/22 that consists of all 80's cards. Those must be super hard to research!

My two, 30 card orders, were in R&ID since 11/18 and within this past week they went from grading to assembly. There is hope! lol

That's great to hear! Crazy though. I have to assume at this point my order is probably already graded and they just forgot to update the status.

67 Items
Nov 16-30 1980-1999 Special service
Estimated Completion Date: March 25, 2025

This one hit Assembly at some point in the last day. I see one of the Finest cards in the review image developed a ton a greening since I sent it in. Weird. Won't be buying or sending in anything prone to that condition again.

Just logged into my account and one of my orders says completed - but I don't see the grades. Has anyone else run into this? Haven't had this happen before

I just got my grades back for the first of two Vintage orders of 30 cards.. displeased to say the least.
I PC 50's football and particularly one set, I am 16th on the registry and I have many raw sets.. I sent cards that look better than the PSA 7's that I have, hoping to upgrade, and I get 4's and 5's.. some 6's. I scrutinized these cards, as I always do. My last vintage order of about 20, I was able to upgrade about 8 and I was fairly accurate on the rest.

The best part is I had two PSA 7's of one card.. I cracked the one that looked like a solid PSA 8, at least.. it got a PSA 5.. That's pretty cool. This company makes zero sense.

This is beyond disappointing. I won't be subbing with them much more.

I've been looking at alot of 2024 Prizm Football. So many cards getting rejected for this reason. Panini really is throwing in the towel. Almost every card has a rear corner defect that you can't miss.

That sucks. I have had certain cards graded 2 grades lower than the should have in orders recently. However, they gave a few cards grades that added stupid value to the cards, so net I have always made out. Inconsistencies is a real issue at PSA right now. SGC is grading pretty hard right now as well. Most grades were .5 to 1 lower than what I expected there. Wonder if Collector's told SGC to grade a bit harsher.

Possibly man, I have a set on the registry PSA 7 and higher (about half are 7.5 and 8's). The cards I cracked looked way better than some of my 7's AND a couple 8's. Fifteen of these 30 cards were well below expectation.
I have one more 30 card order in Assembly right now. I split them up in case this happens, so one more shot, hopefully this one will make up for it.

I've only gotten a 'bump' in expected grades a couple times; I feel like I try to be as honest with myself as I can. Have you gotten the 'upcharge' email before? Thhose are fun to get.

Sorry to hear how poorly made the current Prizm FB cards are (I primarily deal with baseball). You brought up a good point...especially for newer submitters to pay attention to...some forget to spend just as much time looking at the backside of the cards as the frontside...a rookie mistake I made some 15 years ago and got a bunch of 7s and 8s on my first couple of orders. There's often more backside corner damage than frontside.

My last 3 orders that went in before this didn't sit this long at Order Arrived. In fact they went pretty fast for same service. Wonder why it's taking so long almost 21 days and still in just arrived status. Is that normal?

Not a fan of the upcharges. Only happened a few times. I avoided it a bunch with cards like a PSA 10 1988 Fleer Rodman and 1984 Fleer Update Puckett in bulk orders. I had one where they upcharged every Shaq and Kobe that gemmed. Wasn't excited on paying $75 to have a 1992 Topps Gold Shaq card slabbed.

One order in assembly for a month and now my second order is green in assembly. It states on the app, "One or more of your items is in review. Order processing will continue." PSA is probably breaking out all of my cards with decent grades and going to give me all 5's.

I’ve had a vintage order sitting in Research & ID for 6 or 7 weeks which is normal but yesterday it went into Grading and today into Assembly. One day in grading for 300 cards almost all 1952’s. That can’t be good… can it? Kind of like a jury coming back with a verdict after 2 hours, shouldn’t they take a little more time with it? My other 2 active orders are still in Grading after a month but this one flew through for some reason.

PSA graded over 15 million cards in 2024. How much time do you think they spend grading a card? They looked at your cards for about 30 seconds a piece, so 2 hours is plenty of time using their methods. That is what we pay for.
