Sunday was as dead as I’ve ever seen it at Philly.

That being said, apparently Friday and Saturday were ridiculous.

Was at the Nashville show on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Seemed to be a really great show in my opinion. Did some value box digging on Friday and also picked up 3 cards I've been looking for. 1958 Topps Mantle PSA3, 2001 Topps Chrome Traded Ichiro RC, and a Griffey Jr Auto (1989 UD RC with a 10 Auto). I would say the attendance on Friday was perfect. Not so busy that you couldn't move around but good traffic so that sales and trades were happening.

Did see some tables that were overpriced based off sticker showing but for the most part, dealers were willing to work on the price somewhat. Good mix of vintage and modern. The vintage row against the wall was great. Did see a sale of a graded 51 Bowman Mantle RC go down. Didn't hear the price but would assume in the $25k-$30k range.

Saturday was BUSY. Lots and lots of traffic at the tables. I did find some 90's baseball and basketball insert and numbered boxes on Saturday that I dug through for a while. Prices were marked on each card but dealer was good on prices if bundling stuff together. Sunday was thinned out with some dealers already left but many I talked to were up to cut some deals on Sunday. Picked up some graded modern basketball on Sunday.

I didn't attend the trade night on Friday night but heard that it had pretty decent traffic. Had a food and drink stand onsite each day plus an additional option on Saturday for like a meat and 3 vegetable plate.

Plenty of seating as well if you needed to take a break from cruising tables.

1st time attending the Nashville show and will def be back for another one.

Never understand comments like these -- collect the dead guys you've never heard of, or watched play! What a rush!

As if there's no middle ground between 1930 and 2023.

Doesn't sound like much collecting going on, either..."cash out" and all.

I went in yesterday on Saturday afternoon and card shelves were overflowing. Every sport was represented with multiple products in blasters and packs. They even had a bunch of one touch cases which I've never seen at Target. So either production is officially sky high or a lot less people care about cards now.

It’s both. Plus, your store may have gotten a bunch of overstock from other stores or the wharehouse.

For card shows that go on for 3 day weekends, are there often alot of empty tables on the Friday show? I am planning on going to the Chicago Spectacular on Friday but not sure if I should wait until Saturday as maybe there will be alot of dealers who can't get out of work early or whatever

You must not have attended many shows on a Sunday during the Football season. Sunday was busy right up until 3pm. There were shows in the past that we were fully packed up by 2. There were plenty of buyers at this show. The total revenue might not have been as high, mostly because of a lack of faith in high end, but the total number of buyers was the highest it has ever been including during the pandemic boom.

Big shows like rosemont will have most tables Occupied Friday night. People want to get the best stuff first, and they tend to have vip events that night.

With any sort of big show there are going to be more empty tables, by far, on Sunday than there will be on Friday.

Plenty of middle ground between 1930 and 2023. It's called 60's and 70's. Gibson, Mantle, Rose, Carlton, Reggie, Bench, Seaver, Rollie, Catfish, Munson, Ozzie, etc.

Vintage is apparently the new focus of flipper boys. They move around from one card to the next.

It's a sign of the market resetting itself. Ultra modern is overproduced and too expensive. The manufacturers either need to cut production or lower prices.

Yup! They start hyping after they’ve stocked up, the modus operandi for any venture of theirs.

There is a newer one in Greensboro this Saturday. Meridian Convention Center 150 tables, newer stuff I've heard. It's a newer promoter who has piggy backed shows onto venues used by Inside Pitch/Wes at Salisbury and Greensboro. I haven't been but heard folks say it's newer stuff and more kids but ok.
The next big show is April 1 Hickory, then Winston Salem the 8th These are THEE shows in NC. 350 tables. Almost too much to get through in one day. Lots of vintage. I always run out of $$ before I run out of tables!

Be careful about the April 1 Hickory show, that is a toys/comics show only. The venue had to be split up due to ongoing construction. The next card show (no toys) in Hickory will be May 20th.

New one in Greensboro but expect it to be a very young crowd as mentioned above.

I went to the new promoters show in Salisbury awhile back and it was lots of newer stuff. I seem to enjoy the Inside Pitch guys shows better. Good mix of new and vintage.

Thanks for the info guys!

Never will or need to as long as there are breakers

Then Topps and Panini should redirect all their excess retail products to breakers. Make sure to charge the same prices.

Kids generally aren't going to pay high prices for trading card boxes.
