Now with everything backlogged, schedules for GS and direct to PSA seem equally delayed and for GS customers it is:

1. they are new graders and were spoiled by how fast GS was initially
2. dont know how long PSA actually takes
3. and I see this a lot online- dont understand it is 45 business days not just days
4. the GS to PSA status updates seem broken half the time

Receiving is about 3-4 weeks behind so GS subs saying they are waiting a month checks out.

Also GS submitters dont fill out a form of which cards are being submitted which makes me think the R&ID step takes longer for them b/c PSA has to do more work.
Yes, all of that.

I also notice that the delivery time going through GameStop can take much longer. On my own, I've seen 1 to 3 days using priority mail. But I've seen GameStop users saying up to 3 weeks just for delivery from GS to PSA. Assuming that's GameStop compiling one big submission so folks wait while all that comes together.

I haven't used GameStop yet. I've been a PSA subscriber for 2 years now and it still seems like a better value compared to GameStop. I don't like the extra shipping time and risk that comes with more people handling my cards with GameStop. The $2 less per card or w/e it is doesn't matter after 50 or so cards.

This is my first submission with PSA but based on other similar orders on here I feel like it has been sitting in Research for longer than expected. My estimated completion date is less than a month away; should I be concerned that something is wrong with my submission?
24 days between "Delivered" and "Received per PSA" seems way too long. Usually that's the same day or within a day or two. Did you include the barcode on the most external surface of the shipped package?

Also, "Currently" is not specific for the actual date your items went into Research & ID. R&ID seems to be taking 3-4 weeks. Grading and assembly I've seen done in as little as 2 or 3 days or as long as 2 or 3 weeks.

It's still possible your submission will be done before the estimated date.

Woo hoo, looks like I got the high score!

I have an order that arrived to PSA on Feb 5, 2025, and as of today, it just surpassed being there over a month before be entered into the system.

Honestly, this is ridiculous.

Not yet. They've been averaging about 5 weeks in RI/D. I have one that will be entering 5th week shortly. That's the primary bottleneck area. There seems to be a smaller one on the back end when assembly is done but the grades don't pop for a while.

I did my first sub in 2021 and I’m so grateful that set the bar so low for me that these wait times are a breeze

There is no date next to the research bullet on my progress page but when I got the email from PSA on 1/30/25 that they had officially received package it seems it was onto research at that time. Is it normal for cards to go from received to research same day? This is how my progress page has looked like for the last five weeks

Have 2 orders in Assembly with green check mark for 11 days now. None of the cards are upcharge worthy, so that's not the delay. Definitely moving slow.

Mine will be around a week tomorrow should it not pop. Still well within the 4/25 ETA but mine have historically popped within a few days of getting that checkmark. Gemrate suggests record output over the past three weeks so perhaps they're working some OT and making some headway. Now on month 2 without a bulk special which should also be cutting back on the receiving end but they still have yet to stage a chunk of the January specials received in late Jan through Feb. Yes, they need to get caught up but I'm also paying annual dues for those specials. Even a somewhat narrow one would be nice for April.

PSA's 45 day business day clock or whatever the service level is doesn't even start until the cards enter Research and ID.

I had some other comments but the timelines just get so weird.

To me, it looks like they didn't scan the barcode until several weeks after they received the package. This usually means the barcode wasn't readily scannable, i.e it was on a box that was placed inside some other container.

It's so weird how there are many different ways they express arrived, delivered, order prep on different apps/website instances

Others here may have more insight into the transfer process between Santa Ana and Jersey City, but it seems possible that many packages aren’t officially ‘received’ or unboxed in Santa Ana. Instead, they may be scanned for sorting, then loaded into a container or directly onto a truck, and only ‘received’ and unboxed upon arrival in Jersey City. Just speculation.

That is such a highly inefficient way of doing things. At this point, how have they not been able to have orders auto ship directly to NJ?

Who’s dropping an AirTag in their next few submissions to find out?

grading - 02/20/25
assembly - 02/21/25 (10 days here)

Does PSA do anything efficiently? They are the inverse of Chick Fil A. I can't imagine how much money they waste with their process inefficiencies. When I think of PSA, I picture the office from Office Space.

"Well, I generally come in at least fifteen minutes late, ah, I use the side door - that way Lumbergh can't see me, heh - after that I sorta space out for an hour.

Yeah, I just stare at my desk, but it looks like I'm working. I do that for probably another hour after lunch too, I'd say in a given week I probably only do about fifteen minutes of real, actual, work."

Submitted 40 cards at an in-person event on 2/15. Tomorrow marks 21 days since that date and they are still not in PSA’s system.

I wouldn't worry. I dropped off 5 subs at the Tristar show on Feb 1. PSA inputted in their system on March 3, and had arrival date as February 12.

Maybe not having Canadian, Chinese, and Mexican submissions for a little while will help them catch up?
They just got 29 cards, nearly all Prizm, for my second ever submission today, hoping to have them done before June, but who knows. First grading I had ever submitted (and probably the most nerve wracking considering what I sent) arrived on September 28, and was completed on October 8th. Of course, it was only 7 cards, which might be why it was so fast.
