He's still a lock to win MVP.

Lot of panic in here. Last four years was not a fluke. Let’s see how it plays out.

Before I give you my observations, let me give you my credentials first.......that way you know...that I know what I'm talking about:

1. I only played t-ball and some little league baseball before junior high.
2. I still have to look up baseball acronyms so that I can make sense of stats
3. I watch Soto highlights on Youtube and Twitter
4. I have the MLB Network on my YoutubeTV subscription.
5. I bought a new Nokona ball glove 3 years ago to play catch.
6. I don't have a baseball bat currently bc I don't play baseball.
7. I do enjoy already shelled sunflower seeds as a snack at my desk job.

Ok that being said, IF Soto starts hitting the white ball a lot better than he has, with the wooden stick, his stats WILL go UP.

You know he's batting better when he hits the ball better.

When his stats go UP, his cards will go up from where they are now.

Guys, trust me.

Even you have to admit he's not having a good season as of yet. I don't think any real Soto fans are panicking though.

Panic no/ Shitty production yes. But he’s got a long bright future. Lots of pressure on him to lead a shitty team. I think he’s trying to knock it out of the park every swing. But hey who am I. Jmho. I won’t stop collecting Juanjo

Great future most definitely a yes, but are you saying he can’t hit unless he is on a great team? How good would have Ernie Banks been if he was on better teams. Blaming the team is getting old. Also, swinging for a home run every time up? He is hitting 85 mph grounders to 2nd. His swings are more weak defensive swings than aggressive. You want aggressive swings watch Bo Bichette.

Not what I said. I said I think he’s got a lot of pressure on him. It’s his fault he’s letting it get to him. Again JMHO

14 rbi and a 220 average at the end of may is really poor performance no denying that. If Juan is to truly become a generational talent he doesn’t have the time for extended stretches of play like this.
Babip is way low, he’s still getting on base a fair bit, his team is horrendous… makes a bit more sense connecting sone if these dots.

It’s not panic time not even if he has a full down season. If heading into next summer 2023 he’s still a titch above the Mendoza and pacing for 45 rbi then there may be true cause for concern. The fact that he started out slow last year too is something to note. Now of course he turned it around which is to be expected here in 2022.

This is a great buy time for the long term Soto collector and a great time to make aggressive lowball offers. Never know how impatient sellers will get! I just bought 2 significant cards and paid about half what I was willing to pay for each a mere 2 months ago. Basically 2 for the price of 1.

Bro, please.

his strike out so far is the lowest rate in his career at less than 14%. his BABIT is just unusually low and that should normalize as season progresses. His exit velocity is lower than his previous years which concerns me a bit but he is just too good of a hitter to bat this low avg for too long. He WILL come around

It's all fun and games until you realize people are losing real money on this. The shameless pumpers have consequences. (Not saying it is anybody specific in this thread.)
