Have you happened across any new emojis designed to allow those wholly lacking in the ability to participate in political discourse to do so anyway?

Whataboutism is destroying political discourse. Legit points made about one side is countered with, "Well, what about..." in an endless cycle until no points will ever be addressed by either side.

People who don't like Trump have been incessantly whining about him for the past four years. Most of the critiques are so abstract that you can't even begin to take them seriously without knowing that going into it you're wasting your time. "Trump is a moron that says dumb stuff." Okay?

Let's take one example. He called the Coronavirus a hoax. I looked up the speech where this came from...

"Now the Democrats are politicizing the coronavirus. You know that, right? Coronavirus. They’re politicizing it. We did one of the great jobs. You say, ‘How’s President Trump doing?’ They go, ‘Oh, not good, not good.’ They have no clue. They don’t have any clue. They can’t even count their votes in Iowa, they can’t even count. No they can’t. They can’t count their votes.

One of my people came up to me and said, ‘Mr. President, they tried to beat you on Russia, Russia, Russia. That didn’t work out too well. They couldn’t do it. They tried the impeachment hoax. That was on a perfect conversation. They tried anything, they tried it over and over, they’ve been doing it since you got in. It’s all turning, they lost, it’s all turning. Think of it. Think of it. And this is their new hoax. But you know, we did something that’s been pretty amazing. We’re 15 people [cases of coronavirus infection] in this massive country. And because of the fact that we went early, we went early, we could have had a lot more than that."

He wasn't calling the virus a hoax. He was saying that this is the new hoax, or new ploy, by the Democrats to try to rattle him, get him out of office, whatever else.

Hindsight with Coronavirus is 20/20. If Trump suggested a full scale shutdown of the economy and it turns out that the virus is hardly a blip... "Look at this moron. Crippled the economy for nothing." How we blame one guy for however many cases of Coronavirus is a very Democratic thing to do. Push off accountability onto someone else. We all know the deal... wear a mask, wash your hands, don't be stupid. But somehow this is Trump's fault? Despite Democratic leaders encouraging protests and participating in them to counter their own urges for social distancing? Coronavirus happened. It is what it is. Life isn't always gravy, but that doesn't mean that just because you don't like the president that everything is his fault.

This is precisely why no one cares when a good number of you start firing off nonsense about Trump. Because it's endless, mostly inaccurate, and simply comes off as whining. It becomes a game of trying to pin everything on Trump, removing personal accountability, and misconstruing context and facts.

Please explain this one. How is it still a hoax? Yes it is real, protestors are spreading it and part of the huge spike in #s as well as states reopening too early without enforcing restrictions, people just being dumb and not listening to the experts on the subject and not wearing proper masks or masks at all in public, there are many reasons why it is blowing up all over again. The experts have said from the beginning to expect the second wave to be larger and more deadly than the first wave.

Feeling strongly about inequality and injustice and protesting does not mean this virus is not real. If you have seen the protests you have seen the majority of people have been wearing masks. I've seen much higher percentage wearing masks at the protest than I do going to Walmart.

100%. We can't stay on topic. It's an endless cycle that leads to nowhere. I've found that in trying to discuss hot political topics with people, most people (like 95%+) have no interest in hearing an argument that contradicts their beliefs. I spend most of my time seeking out these arguments to try to understand the other side and consider the possibility that I'm wrong. I don't care about being right... only about getting it right. I've spent a good bit of my drive time lately listening to podcasts and Youtube discussions from black intellectuals on the BLM/race issues. These discussions don't line up with what the mainstream media and social media are putting out there.

Here's one I just listened to. It's almost 2 hours long and came out in early 2019, so it's dated by today's standards since it doesn't account for the events of the past couple of months. Barriers to Black Progress: Structural, Cultural, or Both? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rzOApVTfT48 -- Had no idea what I was listening to. I'd love to hear some of the BLM advocates refute some of this stuff. But they won't. They're busy waiting for CNN to drop the latest "Trump said what?!?"

It depends.. What is your interpretation of 'hoax'? I don't think it was ever 'covid isn't real'.

When what we should do about covid depends on whether or not something is a Democratic cause, I call that a hoax.

As per the bolded.. that's kind of the point. And there are some uh, interesting .. governor pics out there. Whitmer's are fun.

Thank you.
Once again the hoax comment has been covered multiple times in this thread and shown how the left/media twist his words.
They outright LIE.
I rarely bother replying to the liars anymore because well, they'll just ignore me and continue to lie.
Almost all, if not all of the posters here who support Trump have openly said Trump's an egotistical, pompous person who tweets stupid stuff way too much.
And yes, we accept his warts and blemishes because we like most of what he's accomplished or is trying to accomplish.
Rarely do any of you Trump haters ever admit that he's always under attack from the media ever since he announced his run for president and every single day since.
His words are taken out of context all the time and some of you just lap it up over and over.
The question that's been asked multiple times that always gets ignored, if he's that horrible of a candidate/president, why does the Democratic Party struggle so much finding a candidate to beat him?

Two things that still blow my mind:

1. The conspiracy theorists in this thread.
2. The Trump apologists in this thread.

Both are full in effect today.

Jd, have a good day at work.

Yes if you think the second wave is going to be worse just wait for the 3rd, 4th,5th and so on. It is a nice convenient virus to pull out anytime they being Congress and the media want to strike more fear into the masses.

Do you not believe the left loves nothing more than seeing the economy sink to low levels because businesses are being shuttered?
Do you not believe the left loves nothing more than seeing protests/riots running rampant? Don't think I've seen hardly any politician on the left speak out against rioters. Why aren't people like Pelosi, Schumer, Biden or any other major Democrat speak out against what's happening in major cities?
Other than perhaps the Democrat mayors, and often times not even them, will you hear a Democrat speak up about what's going on.
Maybe, just maybe, it's because they know the longer crap hits the fan the better off their candidate fares.
Politics at it's absolute worst.
