Here is a listing on eBay with almost identical centering in a PSA 10

Ooof, was worth the gamble with those subs but looks like a BGS 9.5 got 10K yesterday.

Since 2001, though. It's amazing that this stat is saying he's played against a top 10 defense 20 or more times since he's only had 54 career games. That's like half of your games vs. a great defense.

Anyway, taking into consideration the amount of years they are pulling from, Mahomes has 54 career games since 2001, whereas someone like Peyton Manning has 243. That skews the numbers in his favor a bit too much. Let's see where that number is in another 200 career games.

Las Vegas (plays tough)
Chargers
Pittsburgh
Cincinnati
Denver

There might not be a playoff team in that bunch, and if there is it's likely a wildcard.
Looking at GB's schedule, I could see us at 6-2 or 7-1 coming into the game with the Chiefs. The 49ers will be tough and I'm not sure what to expect from the Cardinals or Saints. Otherwise, it's kind of a bottom feeder schedule:

Lions
Bengals
Bears
Steelers
Washington

That white sparkle sell was strong last night given what the red min gem sold for at PWCC premier. I still don't trust ebay/probstein but oh well.

Anyone know the buyer and can confirm? I was thinking $35k would get it done

Ohhh. I get to play:

Chart is hard to see but you get the idea:

TLR: Mahomes has won a higher % of games in which his team *didn't* score first then when they did (84%, vs a league average of 35.7%)

Exactly. I know that a Rodgers fan coming in here may seem like a troll to you guys (but I actually really like and appreciate Mahomes!), however, extrapolating in the NFL is a fools errand. The same was once done with Rodgers. But watching the NFL for the 40 years I've been on this earth, one great QB doesn't mean jack most of the time. It guarantees you'll always be in the mix, but nothing else. There's one exception - Tom Brady. That's the list. And for what the buy-in is on him? Shhheeeet. Mahomes is freaking great with a capital G. No way in hell though I'm dropping that kind of money on a guy with 3 years under his belt. A few of the regulars in this thread have done the smart thing - sold a bunch for a ton of money and kept a few cards so they can still cheer him on.

I like Mahomes but are you guys at all afraid of Justin Herbert? He could be the next Rodgers.

I definitely should have sold my gold prizm for 125k. What a fool I was.

Zero fear. The amount of money people are spending on Herbert is scary. I would NEVER pay money for anyone in Mahomes league. Check out comps on AFC east QBs for the 20 years Brady was there.

100% Agree.

Mahomes is over valued.

Herbert is ridiculously over valued with increased production numbers compared to Mahomes who has increased production numbers compared to Brady

will be interesting to watch. I think Herbert is far better than anything Brady had to face in the AFCE, Pennington, Losman, Sanchez, Tannehill, Fitzpatrick, Geno Smith, washed up drew bledsoe...

Jeezzz.. Half of this page is about how we shouldn't get ahead of ourselves on Mahomes because he's only 3 full years into his career...

The other half about how we should be afraid of Herbert after 1 losing season.

Let's wait until we see year 2 to decide if the Chiefs are going to be wide awake at night fearing Herbert and the Chargers. A lot of times once there's a year of film on a guy, the league figures out some ways to slow him down.

And for perspective, Herbert has more career losses (9) in 15 games and a starting QB than Mahomes has in his career (8) in 46 games.

Agree with this. Unless Mahomes is getting hurt, Herbert will always have to settle for a wild-card spot.
Same thing with Brady, he always won the division, and the one year he got hurt (2008) we won the division.

Know this is somewhat going on a tangent but just a thought - if you look at pure career accolades compared to Brady then you can absolutely say Mahomes’ card prices are overvalued; however, if you compare Mahomes’ prices to any other more “modern” player like Allen, Jackson, Herbert, etc., I think you can say that the pricing is fairly appropriate. The comparison to Brady based solely on career accomplishments makes so many players card prices look overvalued I think.

There’s also an intangible “collectibility” aspect to a lot of players that particularly helps Mahomes, and a player like Brady may not necessarily get the same magnitude of card price increase for his “collectibility” intangible when compared to Mahomes.
