Yes it it! Assuming a 600 AB season Soto would have to bat .356 the rest of the way to finish at .300

Make the playoffs and be surrounded by the best batting team in the AL. Not to mention a lauded culture and a manager who speaks your language. Win win win win - pretty much Soto's dream, I'd bet.

Marco Luciano and Kyle Harrison sure look like the perfect core for a Giants trade package.

I’m looking forward to years of the Soto Splash in McSoto Cove.

We've not seen a player this destined for Pin Stripes in a decade+. It's just a matter of time.

Brandon Belt and Brandon Crawford proved last year that closing a wind tunnel can do wonders for boosting homers.

Barry Juands would easily set a new splash record.

If George was still alive, but doubt Hank pays both Judge and Soto.

Yes but the Sox won’t pay the amount needed after signing Devers

Not necessarily as the context was about Mantle prices diving after year 1 injury. Year 1 means nothing as we are in year 5. Even Acura prices did not dive after injury in year 4. The comparison was just plain stupid. Mantle and Soto don’t belong in the same sentence and me showing year 5 vs year 5 just proved it. Soto SUCKS so far this year. Mantle didn’t suck till well past his prime.

I worry they won't sign Xander or Devers

But maybe that leaves the door open for Soto

Mantle through Year 5: 156 OPS+
Soto to start his career, including this year: 157 OPS+

Now there's other components aside from adjusted offensive output but that you can realistically comp the two at the plate is why people are so high on Soto.

The top 5 closest comps according to b-ref through age 22 season to Soto:

Trout, Frank Robinson, Bryce Harper, Miguel Cabrera, Mickey Mantle.

Even with a relatively down year, just enjoy that this type of star doesn't come along too often.

Agreed but the potential once in a generation hitter hasn’t shown up yet this year.
