But remember, FedEx will only pay out up to $1000 for sports cards. For USPS it is $5000. So if you're submitting via FedEx and your package is worth more than $1000, you're wasting money.

Nice! Might be time to send some cards in if they are doing Standard in under 30 days now.

Does anyone know if BGS does either of the following:
1) Sub bump within the same grade --> meaning bump from non true gem to a true gem 2) Sub bump review for Auto subgrade

Standard orders are taking a month? This is the $50 level correct?

Quick question since it's 1st time grading with bgs and a pretty big card as well.
I subbed a 2021 contenders trevor lawrence cracked ice variation auto. It's moved through the steps to label created which from my understanding is the last step before being shipped? My question is TWO 9.5 tlaw cracked ice variations were graded on 4/14, the day mine went from grading to label created. Is it fair to assume that 1 of those 2 9.5s is my card? |

I just saw a post in a grading group that BGS opened up $30 standard (no subs). 4-5 month turn around, I guess, based on their website.

... which means: I'm still sitting on a pile of cards that will be going to PSA as soon as they start opening up lower tiers. I can wait. It's Brady, numbered stuff, refractors, etc. They aren't declining in value in the mean time.

$50/card for 4 months when PSA is routinely open for 5-6 week turnaround time at that price, pass.
$30 no subs isn't enticing enough either. TAs would need to be ~2-3 weeks to make this sexy.

Had two bulk orders back from BGS recently. Had a terrible experience with the second order. It seemed like the grader had it in for me. Had to crack open 35/140 slabs. Can't wait to get all of my cards graded and done with. You can't trust any grading company. I would recommend buying recently graded BGS 9 and PSA 9 slabs because there's a great chance that they've been under-graded.
What's the point in paying $300k for a PSA 10 with corner wear, when you can get a BGS 9 for $18k that looks perfect? There's an opportunity buying perfect looking 9's at the moment. |

BGS is still the worst grading company. They have zero transparency and horrible customer service. PSA at least has timeframes built around logic, and it has always been that if you contacted CS they could at least look into things for you. If things were running extremely late and you got the ear of a a rep, in some instances your order could be pushed or sent back to you.
Waiting on an order now for well over a year and Mike Gardner keeps making empty promises. He's been saying for a while now that theres a 5/1 deadline for all orders in the backlog to be graded, and that allow a few weeks after that for slabbing and then a few weeks shipping. This buy for time only came after saying to expect around 4 weeks for the order to be completed, which was nearly 2 months ago. How on earth he could know that an entire backlog was to be cleared by 5/1 and then to wait a few weeks for them to be "sent to get slabbed" and then a few more weeks to ship is just a flat out lie. I get that they are severely backed up, and trying to buy time with every customer and expect that buying 2-3 months of time for orders already 15 months late seems like a good game plan to a habitual liar attempting to buy time, but BGS should've learned from their issues a few years ago when this backlog started that continuing to make empty promises to customers is not the right way to go about things. More to say about this, but I'll leave it at that. BGS is worthless anyways and I cannot wait to crack the cards out of their holders and send them to PSA which should've been done in the first place. |
