Thor: Love and Thunder could have been a great horror movie.

(I'm typing up my review of the movie now.)

Watched Fresh last night. I liked it, but it could have been so much more.

Let's get some updates here, I'm getting desperate.

Watched The Wretched yesterday....6/10. Poor acting, more plot development would have been nice.

Nothing new but I recently signed up with "Tubi" and they have a crap load of horror movies. I've watched:

Boogey Man 3
Nightlight
Be Afraid
Grave Encounters

They are all "B" type movies (not including Grave Encounters. This is one of my favorite "found footage" movies) but Tubi does have a lot of REALLY GOOD horror. I've just seen them all.

Also, watch The Wicked on Prime. It's kind of a mixed ghost/witch/haunted house movie. Not great, not horrible. It has the same young actor in it that was in Wretched.

Hulo is going to have the newest chapter in "The Predator" series. It's set in the past (it looks at least 300 years in the past) and it's Native Americans who are on the hunt. I think it is going to be available on 8/5. They usually don't give the exact date for some reason. They just say August of 2022. I've seen the trailers and it looks promising. Here is to hoping it doesn't suck!

Saw a good review for it earlier, basically saying it's the best "Predator" movie yet, and there's been 4 or 5 before this one, I think. I'll definitely check it out.

We watched a couple of good ones recently on SHUDDER, including "They Look Like People", a low budget, but effective psychological thriller about a man who may or may not be losing his mind as he receives cryptic warnings that an alien presence has infiltrated certain people and they are soon to strike.

Also, "Tigers Are Not Afraid", which is a ghost story set in the all-too real violent world that a group of kids attempt to navigate while being targeted by a drug cartel and human traffickers. This one is in Spanish, with subtitles, but worth the watch/read. The young actors are excellent across the board and the ending packs a solid punch.

I liked it. Also liked "Day Shift". Went for the trifecta with a movie that auto played "They/Them" what an absolute pile of garbage that movie was. First minute was promising and thats about it.

I hated Black Phone until the ending unfolded and it all came together. Then I did a complete 180 on my thoughts of the movie. Nothing spectacular, but a good watch.

Gonna give Day Shift a shot tonight or tomorrow. Looks like it should be fun.

"They" as in "closet" type monster, or, "Them" the old B&W movie about the ants?

Waiting on this one.....Jordan Peele's first movie, Get Out, was fantastic, then he followed it up with Us, which I thought was pretty lackluster. I'll wait until this one comes out on a streaming service.

I prefer this "Them" -- https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/them_2007

French horror flick. It's actually really good. Low budget, high suspense.

I did, and it was worth the ticket. I like it that Jordan Peele keeps coming up with something new in a genre that's often hamstrung by most creators just imitating what's recently been successful.

Oh, I remember that one. Didn't they do an American remake but call it something else?

Very similar story, although I'm not sure The Strangers was a remake or even inspired by Them. I enjoyed both films, but prefer Them.

I walked out of the theatre and the first thing I said to my wife was "I have no idea if I did or did not like that movie".

Ultimately I decided I did like it, after I digested a lot of the subtlety.

Get Out was definitely better, for the record.

I just might not have been able to follow the relevance of the ending... But I did not understand how or why that killed it...Nope was weird.
