✹The PERENNIAL Shohei Ohtani Thread✹

Just a couple thoughts:

Unlike James and Brady, Ohtani is still in his prime and has more accomplishments ahead of him. Neither James or Brady were MVP's during their stints with the Lakers or Bucs.

They also had both already won championships with other teams, a feat Ohtani has yet to accomplish, nor has he had post season success of any note.

There are certainly a LOT more Dodger fans than Angel fans

As the years go on, if Shohei continues to accomplish great things including winning a World Series or two where he preforms well, people will want to memorialize those memories in the uniform he accomplished those achievements in. This is essentially my thesis and why I believe it's different than a covid bump. He has the chance to accomplish a LOT in a Dodger uniform unlike a past their prime Jordan, Brady or Lebron.

I hated it last year because of how much I love his image in 2023. I don't have a single Topps Chrome parallel in the PC because of it, all paper and logofractor

The only one that I am aware of is the 2023 Topps Now #233. It is for them both having 500 strikeouts/100 HRs. No real stats on the back, just a bit of a blurb.

I think a cool Babe Ruth card to pair with an Ohtani is the #700 SP of the Babe. I think it even has his career stats on the back. Pair that with the With Bat SP #700 and you're lookin' good.
