They are pretty in line with net take home if sold on eBay after fees. But without the hassle of having to post a listing and ship out the cards (and dealing with potential return nonsense). Likely not gonna get anything crazy for offers but at the same time will get a "good" offer most of the time you can accept or reject.

Every now and then you get an offer based on an inordinately high recent eBay sale that's out of line with most of recent sales history. It's worth checking your offers every day to see what's new and what has been updated. I've sold several cards for ~150% of what they would have gotten at auction. Not often, but it happens.

I have 2 RID from June 16th, 1 from July 11th and 3 QA for the last 2-3 weeks. They seem to have halted movement on my orders.

I know it might be a stretch, but what I don’t like about offers is how this could lead to even more grade manipulation and fraud. For example: your card grades an 8–here’s a pic of that card in an 8 slab. Here’s an offer of $30 for that $50 card based on the assigned grade of 8. You take it because the 8 is lower than you expected and you don’t feel like dealing with it.

PSA now owns that card. That card is now likely a few steps away from the people who crack cards from slabs. They crack it out and send that puppy back to their friend in grading “for a second opinion” and they miraculously have a “change of heart” and now see that card as a perfectly good 10–valued at $500. Suddenly, PSA has just acquired a $500 card with a below-market “offer” of $30 because of the card’s brief stint in an 8 slab.

It is wild and beyond reasonable that a submission goes into assembly 08/06 and is still there 09/06. PSA is getting worse and not better with their process.

I don’t think they would go to that extreme, but the fact we all know how inconsistent they are, you never know. I have seen crack and re-grade cards jump from 7 to 10.

Anyone else having value max/regular orders going way over estimates? I have a value max order that is 2 weeks past the estimated completion date. It's been in QA for over 3 weeks now.

That's pretty crazy, my recent value max submission was just a couple days past the estimation date (before I knew the grade results).

Any chance you think there'd be an upcharge if you got 10's? Could be why it's lagging.

There are 2 cards in the order. One would be a pop 1 but likely worth well over $1,000, and the other comps at around $1,500 right now. So upcharges are very likely if either of them gem. I wouldn't complain too much if that is the reason why, but 3 weeks and counting in QA for a value max sub still seems excessive

It's because the PSA stage names are meaningless.

Here's every PSA stage name, and what they actually mean:

Order Arrived
(Scanned in at mail room. Value bulk gets thrown to the side, and express might actually be opened in week or so.)

Order Prep
(Hey, we actually opened the package a month later! Clock only starts now. Estimates are just estimates, kid.)

Research & ID
(Snap a photo and run it through the corner bender machine that AI checks for min size)

Grading
(Check submission to see if it's 4SharpCorners, or the owner of the Arizona Diamondbacks, etc., then grade high. If not, pop control, and this 30 second process; takes three weeks)

Assembly
(Push the cards over to the side and we'll get to 'em when we get to 'em.)

QA Check 1
(Hostage check #1. Check to see if it needs an upcharge via card ladder. If so, extort as much $$$ from submitter as possible. Hold cards hostage.)[/I]

QA Check 2
(Pop control and upcharge check #2. Have another set of eyes double-check with card ladder if it needs an upcharge. Employee bonus for any upcharge missed.)[/I]

Grades Ready
(Get ready to crack and resubmit. It's been four months, take it or leave it, pal!)[/I]

Completing
(Add an intentional delay here so customers hopefully send it to the vault, accept a lowball internal offer from "select partners" and then hopefully we don't have to ship them back)[/I]

Pretty much stuff like that....

This made me both chuckle and shake my head, the latter because it feels pretty accurate. The part about 4 Sharp Corners is really great.

Anyone else vision the grading process is just some guys sitting at a table with a lamp that the cards are under, and the grader is just chomping away on a pizza while he watches the daytime syndicated tv shows on a tv mounted on the wall? Every 10 minutes or so he swaps out a card for a new one. Maybe during commercial break.

My order popped today. I had 1 upcharge. I was pleasantly impressed with the offer system. You don't have an offer for every card, but I did end up selling 6 cards for what I felt were strong prices.

PSA 10 2023 TOPPS CHROME UPDATE AUTOGRAPH | REFRACTOR#ACMMI MASON MILLER $127.92
PSA 10 2025 BOWMAN CHROME PROSPECT AUTOGRAPHS#CPAKG KONNOR GRIFFIN $331.80
PSA 8 2025 BOWMAN CHROME PROSPECT AUTOGRAPHS#CPACC CHARLIE CONDON $91.84
PSA 10 2025 BOWMAN CHROME PROSPECT AUTOGRAPHS | SPECKLE REFRACTOR#CPALD LEO DE VRIES $327.06
PSA 9 2022 BOWMAN'S BEST BEST OF 2022 AUTOGRAPHS#B22JW JAMES WOOD $67.15
PSA 10 2025 BOWMAN CHROME PROSPECT AUTOGRAPHS#CPAWJ WALKER JENKINS $115.62

The card I got upcharged $30 on was this one:
PSA 10 2025 BOWMAN CHROME PROSPECT AUTOGRAPHS CPAJW JJ WETHERHOLT MINI DIAMOND

I received an order back from PSA a couple weeks ago and when I went to check the POP reports none of the serial numbers show up on the PSA website. It just says no results.

Is this a new thing that they are behind on updating ?

I felt it was important to share that my package was delivered on 9/5. This was unexpected. Normally PSA would ship out on a Tuesday and my sub would be delivered Saturday morning. It had been this way since I moved out where I am now going back two years.

This time, they shipped on Wednesday and it was delivered on Friday. If PSA is paying more to have priority shipments, and not charging us, that would be awesome.

Had my bulk pre-80’s order pop about 1 week before the estimated pop date but got absolutely hammered with the grades. I’d say the vast majority were at least a grade lower than anticipated with a good 20-25 of the 150 cards 2 or more grades below expected. To balance it out there were 3 that in my opinion were overgraded. Just a blood bath overall and while I had not been fully convinced in the past I now am a believer that PSA no longer knows what it’s doing when it comes to vintage grading.

Does Fanatics Collect actually charge $14 for PSA still? I tried to create an account just to see and can't get it verified to get it past email verification. Just want to know before trying any further or trying to call their customer service. Thank you.

Does PSA still have a strict policy of not grading cards if they are sent in toploaders?

Yes it is. Just mind you if you opt to store in the vault vs sell right away, you get hit with a 3% card value withdrawal fee if you take them out prior to 90 days
