Wow i hope everyone was able to grab these before they sold out.

I am taking bet --- and I will give you 2:1 --- that there will be more available in coming weeks, months, or SDCC or NYCC.

JSC is not going to turn away from fans throwing $18/book at him -- and so is Marvel entertainment.

I think it's a way of pumping up demand on the book. So now people that were maybe thinking about it will jump on it as it becomes available.

They may have some reserves put away and leak them out over the next few weeks. But judging by the people that have 10+ and are pre-selling them on eBay, I don't think the numbers are going to be that high. Maybe a standard 3000/1000 run?

The strategy of the sports card companies in the 1990's was to release some limited product that sells out, not print more, but continue to strategically create this illusion of scarcity that can happen with any release, not all releases, then crank the printing presses with overproduction, all while the speculators who horde think they're getting tomorrow's hottest collectible, only to find out it's not as scarce as they thought. There's nothing wrong with that tactic per se. I remember placing pre-orders only to get 50% or less allocated, so, then you pump up your orders assuming you won't get it all, only to sometimes get the entire order. It motivates customers to not sit on the sidelines and wait, and act more on impulse.

From the horse's mouth:

*Limited additional stock was set aside for San Diego Comic-Con International next month.

And most likely, similar additional stock will be available at New York Comic-con.

But we're probably talking hundreds of copies, not thousands. I wouldn't be surprised if it's 250 of each cover per show.

Use your insider to give us a total print run Marino13!

I picked up a set of the B&W and Color variants from JSC's site. Glad I didn't wait!

I know he posted on FB that they will have limited quantities at SDCC. Did he post the print numbers there as well because I didn't see it. Someone postulated that the run was 3000/1500 but JSC wouldn't substantiate it.

Those are the minimums they have to order. Being as that it's sold out, if the number were 10,000 and 5,000 does it really matter?

I'm just curious as the print run is all. If it was 10,000, and he held back 2,000 for shows, it's pretty darn impressive that he sold 8,000 books in 36 hours.
